Suncatcher - Rainbow Prism Axicon Window Sun Catcher - These Suncatchers are Great for Feng Shui

The colors this sun catcher makes are beautiful!!!! It's a fantastic product. I was also surprised with the quality. It is well designed and does NOT feel cheap. It is made of plastic but looks and feels like it is made of some kind of metal and glass. It is aesthetically pleasing visually. And as far as creating beautiful rays of color this sun catcher does just that! When hit with DIRECT sunlight it will create very sharp, clear streaks of rainbow rays. They look like beautiful lasers on your wall. But once again it has to be DIRECT sunlight so play around with the spot you feel the sunlight will produce the best results. OVERALL this product was well worth the buy, and I highly recommend it for anyone considering it as a gift for a loved one. I love it so much I actually will be buying two more for myself and one for my younger cousin once I find out if his house gets direct sunlight from the window. I encourage anyone who has been put off by the REVIEWS of this product to ignore the low reviews. I read the reviews before my purchase and hesitated thinking this product was a cheap toy and a scam. IT IS NOT. It is exactly as advertised and just a little bit more surprising as far as quality. Do not hesitate to buy this sun catcher if it's just what you are looking for. You will not be disappointed!

Yes, the faux metallic silver toned frame that hold the prism (which is very solid glass with a prism "sticker" on it) is kind of flimsy. And the prism is just a thin plastic film, it's still solid enough. Though I wouldn't get it wet or put it outside. I read complaints that it didn't create rainbow light but I don't think some of the reviewers truly understand how a prism works. The light has to be direct and the prism is going to work best in a window that either gets early morning or late evening light. It's that horizontal light that's going to create the rainbows in your room. And the rainbow light it creates are much like shown in the photos. Really pretty and striking. I am delighted. The pattern of light created by this prism isn't like the pattern created by a crystal or glass prism, but it's big and plenty beautiful. Real faceted prisms will scatter rainbow light. This prism doesn't scatter light that way. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants rainbows in their room--just make sure that the room you are intending it for gets direct morning or evening light or you will be disappointed and don't expect rainbows all day. That horizontal light is fleeting, I think that makes the prisms that much more special. Every evening as the sun gets low I go into the kitchen to wash dishes and enjoy my kitchen window rainbows.

Many people have asked, but nobody has mentioned the size of this ornament. It's about 4 inches across. The frame is a chrome-looking plastic. It comes with a suction cup so you can hang the suncatcher in a window. I have only had mine for a couple of sunless days, so I can't comment on the rainbow feature yet. But even if it never makes rainbows, it's still very attractive to look at as it hangs. It seems fairly sturdy. The frame doesn't feel too flimsy, but I hope I don't drop it anyway, as it is only plastic. I have posted a photo with the Suncatcher placed next to a ruler and some American coins, so that you can get an idea of the size.Update: I've had several sunny days now. I have upped my rating to five stars. This suncatcher produces brilliant, soft-edged rainbows in a beautiful array very much like those shown in the photos. The rainbow patterns on the walls and floor are unique and beautiful. They make me feel happy. My only complaint would be the price. I think this should be priced $5 or $7 less than what it's going for here on Amazon (that's including shipping). If they cost less, I would have one in every window in the house!

I admit. I judged this book by its cover and thought it wasn't going to amount to much.I was wrong.In normal light, this isn't all that pretty. On examination you can see laser-etched plastic film in between two clear plastic pieces, encased by a silver frame (which may also be plastic, now that I think about it.) Okay, not all that pretty.But when you hang it in a window that gets DIRECT sunlight? Oh wow! You have never seen or owned another suncatcher that can produce the quality and volume of rainbows this product does! Long, full rainbow colors radiating the full 360-degrees around. I had this in my office window and at a certain point in the morning sun, the rainbow streaks would cover the length of my office, across the hallway, into the next office, all the way up its far wall. Awesome!!***WARNING*** Do not try to clean this by immersing it in water or spraying window cleaner on it. There is not a water-tight seal around the frame and when I sprayed window cleaner on it, some of the liquid seeped in between the clear plastic pieces onto the laser-etched film. Although this doesn't interfere with the rainbow prism function, it is unsightly (to me) because it always looks like there is water in between the plastic pieces. It never "dried" and returned to previous appearance. This is why I give this product 4 stars.All this being said, I am here to purchase this as a Christmas present. Obviously, I would highly recommend this holographic window prism suncatcher.
