The Engenius EOC5610 is a robust outdoor wireless Access Point/Client Bridge designed for long-range connectivity. Operating on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, it delivers high bandwidth of up to 54Mbps, backed by a powerful 600mW output for superior signal strength and reliability in outdoor settings.

Great Range
I bought this to use as an Access Point to get WiFi coverage in our back yard. It easily gives me 250' of coverage from the Access Point in a yard with many trees. Having to just run the one Ethernet cable made wiring and physical installation very easy.Cons:1) The documentation is a little sparse, (but I have set up several access points so setup was not difficult)2) It is a 2GHz OR 5GHz device, it must be setup to support just one or the other. I had planned to extend both my 5GHz and 2GHz wireless networks. The 2GHz band is very crowded in my area but not all of my devices support 5GHz. I set it up for 2GHz and it has a strong enough signal interference is not an issue.

Excellent Product for Wireless Bridging
We purchased 2 of the EOC-5610 to put up a wireless bridge link in an area that is very polluted with 2.4ghz 802.11b/g/n traffic. Being able to use 802.11a or 802.11b/g is huge in my book. A unit that is frequency agile is very important in the areas of operations that I work in. Currently our link is using the 5ghz band because there are over (25) 2.4Ghz AP currently in my area. Engenius did advertise this unit being able to do turbo 108Mbps mode. I found out from Engenius support that this mode was part of the original product concept but was later taken out because it greatly effected the range of the unit. So 54Mbps is the fastest speed it will do and that is still plenty fast enough for my needs. This is professional quality and grade equipment in my book. The setup was straight forward and I just followed the examples given to setup my units for bridging. I have used Cisco Aironet products in the past and in my opinion the Engenius EOC-5610 do a much better job for a lot less money.

Say a prayer as you take it out of the box
First off found out from Engenius tech support that this is a discontinued no longer supported item, that disappointed me. Reason I contacted Engenius support is that the item is very difficult to set up and the instruction manual is not much help, this is not a piece of equipment for the faint of heart. I am not technically challenged but did not have the time to spend, and as it was I spent 4 days trying to get it working as a client router, gave up and settled for setting it up as a client bridge. Could not get to work in that mode either so finally just gave up and returned it

EnGenius EOC-5610 as wireless repeater
I was not extremely impressed with this item. I bought it because a friend at work was using it and he is very happy with it.I personally wanted a device capable of being a wireless repeater and the firmware that came with this device does not allow that functionality. After spending another $20 to buy dd-wrt firmware and put on this device, it is serving it's purpose, however, there are other devices that do this for half the price.

fantastic, worked for 4-mile urban line-of-site link
A pair of these provided for an ethernet bridging link over a 4.1-mile line-of-site path in the Salt Lake valley. This exceeded my expectations with such low-power small devices in a noisy urban environment. I am seeing a noise level of -96 dBm and signal strength of -80 dBm, so SNR is only 16 dB, but that seems to be adequate for a link that varies from 2-24Mbps. Using 5GHz (5200MHz) 802.11a configuration. One end is atop a 60-foot tower which was needed to get above trees. Thanks for such a solid, reasonably-priced product, EnGenius. Now make a similar product with 802.11n for even better speed performance with weak RF signals.

I have had some working in the field for years and they have turned yellow looking from fading but still work like new.
Very Reliable product and I have not had issues with having to reset them. I did a couple of times only because the electricity went out but that was it. I have had some working in the field for years and they have turned yellow looking from fading but still work like new.

I have been using Engenius products for years and the work pretty good most of the time
signal was not as strong as expected, 50 yards outside as a/Point. I have been using Engenius products for years and the work pretty good most of the time.
