Relieved....my Springfield Armory TRP Operator 5" 1911 Tactical (FULL RAIL) fits
After reading sooooo many reviews that full rail 1911s did not fit in this Fobus holster, even though it was advertised as compatible with full rail 1911s, I must report that my Springfield Armory TRP Operator 5" 1911 Tactical (FULL RAIL) fits with no problems or scratching of any kind. I loosened the retaining screw 1 full rotation to make the draw easier but still snug. There is rubbing on the trigger guard because that is where the Fobus locks onto the gun. The holster is comfortable, and I believe a value at approx. $30.

The price is great too
I have a 1911 45 acp so the wt. on my belt is a lot. But this holster is great like no wt. at all. The draw speed is fast. I’m 75 years old and I have carried a 1911 for over 30 years . I would recommend this holster to anyone who is interested in a new holster

Like the gun it holds, its true beauty is in its functionality.
I have an RIA 52000. It is not a work of art, but a workhorse. The holster does not need to be a custom made thing of beauty that I would be afraid to use. Like the gun, it needs to be rugged, functional and not too pricey. Looking for an inexpensive holster to fit that beast was like searching for hen's teeth. Fobus provides the rugged, functional, and low price. That leaves fit. Some reviews indicated it would fit, others said not. The problem is the 6 inch barrel, the full length rail, and the large front sights. Seriously, this is a big and heavy handgun, and carrying concealed is absolutely not an option. I just wanted to have it on my hip, easy to access, and securely held. So, I took a chance and ordered the Fobus Roto Evolution.Upon opening the package, I immediately checked to see if the RIA 52000 would fit. It slid into the holster with no problem and looked great. The next thing I did, was to try to pull it out. That is where I hit a little snag, literally. The trigger guard was being held just a bit too tight for an easy draw. I was somewhat disappointed, but I hated to give up completely. Everything else fit perfectly, so I decided to try a minor modification, and I mean VERY minor. I removed the spacer on the screw just below the trigger guard and replaced it with a slightly larger one. Viola! It worked as I hoped it would. The gun slides in easily, holds securely, and slides out without much effort. I am very glad I took a few minutes to make the modification. Otherwise, I would have missed out on a well made and well fitting holster at a reasonable price. As with all my reviews, I will return to update, if and when my experience and opinion of this product changes.

Comfortable light weight
The media could not be loaded. I just love paddle holsters. They are light weight, adjustable tension. Very comfortable even in while seated. Only draw back is gun angle is not adjustable.

Does not fit 1911 style pistol with full rail.
I have a plyatapus 1911 style trigger and everything.Wont fit into the holster at all. It goes in about half way then the rail gets caught because the holster narrows. Going to be returning this.Do not buy if you have a full rail.

Probably should have bought the Roto model
I've always liked Fobus holsters. Well made, good value for the money. This is the first evolution holster I've owned. I needed a knock around, range holster type for my Colt Government model. Pleased when I got it, pistol snapped in and was held securely. The problem is drawing the pistol. The holster does not want to let go of the pistol if you pull straight up or a bit to the rear when attempting to draw, which is the natural pull direction with the holster at the fixed angle that it is. Even with the adjustment screw totally loose. If you pull and draw forward, which feels wrong, it will release. As the headline says, I probably should have got the Roto model to adjust the angle.
