Falcon 20cm Round Pie Dish White - 46520

I saw this pan in a kitchen-supply store in England. The night before I had eaten a super nice beef pot-pie for dinner in a local pub and thought, "I need a few of these pans!". It was not convenient to purchase the pan in England, but no surprise, I found it on Amazon US (shipped from England, I think). My wife and I are empty-nesters so we are almost always trying to "cook for two". I fine that this is impossible when preparing a complex dish (like the insides of a pot-pie), so I ordered two of these pans, thinking I can make two pot-pies, freeze one uncooked and cook the other for dinner. My first use of these pans was a chicken pot-pie, and the results were superb. A half-pie serving is more than enough for one person, but if you have a large appetite, could you use the pans for individual servings. The price of the pans is ridiculously low, so you could purchase a half-dozen or more for large dinner parties. If you value right-sizing your meals, this pie pan is for you.

The pie dish is exactly what I wanted. I only regret that I didn't order two while I was at it. It is perfect for a tart--like small pie for two. My first pie was simple--a bought rolled crust, a bought can of cherry pie filling, fold the extra crust in on top of the pie filling, leaving a two-inch hole in the middle, bake at 375-degrees for 30-35 min and voila! A perfectly simply and delicious pie! It will get lots of use, I am sure.

I love enamelware and an enamel pie plate is a great idea. However, I don't feel this is a standard pie size. It fits all the way Inside my regular glass pie plates. I'm not sure what size pies it is made for. Maybe large pot pies. But it is good quality and I find uses for it, just not pies.

It is quite small really, but perfect for a small pie. I liked it, it was what I was looking for.

It's 20 for the outer rims diameter which don't count. The dish turned out to be much smaller and I couldn't use it for the recipe I intended to make

Now what else would you make an old style steak, kidney and oyster pie n?. Good quality.

I love these pans a lot. It's hard to find an 8" pir plate for my great-grandmother's recipes and this does the trick! Got two for my mom too!
