Frcem Intermediate: Short Answer Question Third Edition, Volume 1 in Full Colour

I bought this book during my 2nd attempt for SAQ intermediate and I can confidently say that this book combined with a question bank is all you need to pass the exam. The book is brilliant. It is written exactly according to curriculum and topics covered in the previous exams are covered in great detail. Every line of the book is important as anything can come as a question. I first spent a month and half reading the book before subscribing to a question bank. I revised the material in the books 4 times before the exam. Hope this helps those writing the exam.

I am an emergency department Advanced Clinical Practitioner and I follow the RCEM portfolio. The idea of this book is very good and the general layout is useful. However, the text itself is copied and pasted from other sources and changes of vocabulary from America and the UK are obvious. But also there are several obvious mistakes throughout the book such as the table demonstrating the westley croup score in volume 2 the scores are in the wrong place so you are unable to get to a total of 17, there is also a traffic light system used in the book which is an imitation of the one used by nice, but it is not referenced and there are mistakes relating to skin colour changes. These are just a few of the mistakes I’ve found. This is one of the few books with all the clinical areas covered, but the mistakes and the obvious cut and pastes make you doubt the reliability of the clinical advice given.
