I got this for a slightly different purpose than most, I think. I have two teenage sons who tend to do online gaming a little more than what I would prefer, even during non-school days. I can't police them all the time, so I let this timer do it for me.I have our router plugged into it, and every night the timer shuts it off at 01:00 in the morning, and then back on at 06:00. So, the gaming ends at 01:00 without question.When I first programmed it this way, the next day they told me that something was wrong with the WiFi network. I looked very puzzled and told that how odd that was, that I would look into it, and snickered to myself.But they soon figured out what I had been up to....;). At least now they're going to bed at a decent hour. Once school starts, it'll be set to shut off at 10:00.The timer was very easy to program and does just what I need it to...great little gadget.

So purchased this back in early November and loved everything about this timer. It had multiple schedules, had daylight savings and even a random vacation mode.Recently I noticed the light hadn’t been going on, so I decided to change the light bulb. Didn’t change anything.So I reset the timer today , still didn’t change anything.It appears to have died.. so frustrating.

UPDATE: The company reached out to me after reading my original "1 star" review (below) and offered to not only send me a new unit, but they even offered to preset the timers and test it for me!!!! WOW. It's rare to find such comprehensive and speedy customer service these days! Therefore, I've updated my review from "1" star to "4".ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this as a “Today’s Deal” back in August to use in an outlet in my enclosed garage for my outdoor Christmas lights this year. For once, I was going to be ahead of the game!! NOT SO. First of all, I waited until December to test it (stupid me) and discovered there were no instructions included in the box. As an older (and rather technically challenged widow) this was NOT a pleasant find. Although a kind soul had listed diections online, they were still difficult for me to follow. Which meant it was taking me a few tries to program the timer. But, after pressing the reset button for only the fifth time, the button BROKE!! It stayed in its “down” position rendering the device utterly useless! And I certainly wasn’t using brute force on it either. Arrrrgggh!!!! So, I had to wait another week (due to my work schedule) before I could set up my outdoor decorations. In the meantime, I ordered a simpler timer from the same company and that one worked great. However, I’m REALLY upset that I wasted money on this more complicated version that apparently wasn’t as well-made. Obviously, the window for its return had long passed so this was a total waste of money (and time) for me. Boo hiss!!! But, lesson learned - always test a product as soon as it arrives.

I love this timer. This is the second one that I have bought. I use it to schedule our lights on our Christmas tree and lamps around the house. I like being able to schedule each day because I don’t need the lights on when I am at work but want them on more on the weekends. I also use this to schedule lamps around the house when I am out of town for long periods of time to make it look like someone is home. The internal battery on it lasts so long that I can’t believe that my older one (about 3 years old) hasn’t died yet. I would buy this again (and I have).

Timer Looks nice and theoretically should do everything we need working ONE open/closed sign in our office. Despite Repeatedly verifying the programming, clock, settings and reprogramming it, does not seem to work. Does not turn on when it is supposed to or off when it is supposed to. Clock set correctly, programming set correctly (day, time, AM/PM), set to auto and NOT random - yet the timer works for a day or two and then seems to turn on and off at will. Definitely not worth your time
