Griffin 1.05 mm Thick Silk Cord Black - Size 16

Well made, smooth (dare I say silky?), tough, braided silk cord. I bought it for a pendant a year and a half ago and it still looks new. I also used it for a pendant for my son whose college 'look' requires multiple pendants. Be aware (as he was not) that this is actual silk and it can fray when rubbing against sharp things.

I knot almost all my necklaces with silk. Silk gifts such a luxurious feel as well as the safety of securing the beads or pearls so they cannot rub and damage each other and will not all release if the necklace should break. I've never been disappointed in Griffin silk, whether it's vibrant colors or tensile strength. Very happy with this purchase.

Cord is as expected. Be careful when cutting it -- due to the very thin fibers in natural silk, the cord immediately tries to unravel and puff out once cut. Knot before cutting.Comes with a wire at one end which can be used as a needle to string beads.

Strong, uniform and smoothly finished, but a good bit finer than I needed. Went up into a lovely four strand braid with an interesting texture for my heavy fossil stone pendant, so all went well. I will use it again for other things.

Very nice thick cord. No loose threads. I used it to bead necklaces with Kyanite beads. Kyanite is heavy gemstone and this string holds my beads very securely.

Too thick for my beads. Will order a smaller gauge.

i wasn't expecting it to be braided (i would have if i had looked closer) but it is strong enough to handle the small talisman that i wear every day and thats all i needed it for.good buy and a great price.

The string is nice and strong.
