A great addition to the series.
I really enjoyed this novel. There was plenty of action and beautiful descriptions.of the Scottish countryside. A must read for all Hamish Macbeth fans.

Enjoyable read.
MC Beaton had help to write this book which I believe was published after her death. However, the close collaboration between MCBeaton and her Co writer means that it is very much a Hamish Macbeth book and fans will enjoy as much as earlier novels.

Hamish rides again!
A welcome return for the carrot topped cop. Quite long for a Macbeth story ( and not all that clear as to who the green eyed monster is who dies as the title would have it) Familiar territory to continue the series, and a good introduction for new readers, even if stock phrases and characters are reintroduced for their benefit.

Same old Same old
Bought as a birthday gift as requested by the recipient but later read it myself too, having enjoyed previous books in the Hamish Macbeth series. Maybe I had read those earlier books when I was younger and had enjoyed the TV series. Now the plot and characters just felt like every earlier book, and I just didn't enjoy it. I could only surmise, as the birthday gift was enjoyed by the recipient of the book, that I had outgrown Hamish. I recommend reading Stuart McBride instead but the vibe is very different :D

A Brilliant Read
I have read all M C Beaton’s Hamish McBeth’s novels and they have all been excellent, was so pleased when discovering R W Green has continued with M C Beaton’s ideas following her sad death.
