Cuisinox COF-L3 Liberta 3-Cup Espresso Coffeemaker

I bought the Cuisinox to replace a $10 aluminum contraption I was using for years. Compared to the aluminum thing Cuisinox is worth every penny. It is easy to clean and looks neat and shiny. The coffee it makes tastes better than that made in an aluminum coffeemaker. There are no plastic parts like knob or handle. The handle can get quite hot. To lift the coffeemaker right after turning off the gas you have to put on a glove or use a peace of cloth. The coffeemaker on a gas range may not be stable because the bottom of the coffeemaker is less in diameter than the middle. Looks like the designers sacrificed functionality for aesthetics. The lid knob is solid metal sphere welded to the lid, no screws - that is good. However using the knob to check on coffee while it is still brewing can be cumbersome. The knob gets hot and it is tricky getting a good grip without burning you fingers, or knocking the coffeemaker down. Despite these oversights I am quite happy with the purchase.

if you love an excellent cup of coffee but don't want to use the "standard" aluminum moka pot for whatever reason - THIS is the pot for you.PERFECT in every way - this little 3 cup pot works beautifully on my electric stove top (about 5 minutes on medium heat). Clean up is simple - and no worries about aluminum leaching into my already addled brain (!)GREAT pot at a very reasonable price - made in China but EXCELLENT quality all the way round (including the handle - which is also stainless - not plastic that may degrade over exposure to heat).Enjoy your perfect cup of coffee from this Liberta 3 cup espresso pot

This a wonderful espresso pot. Not only beautiful, but also functional. The reason I switched to a stainless steel vs. aluminum is the whole "possibility of brain damage" thing. It takes a little bit longer to brew than the aluminum, and is a bit difficult to clean (the top portion has a channel where the coffee lands, and is impossible to clean without a special type of skinny bottle cleaner). Other than that, the coffee tastes great, with the added plus of knowing that I'm not absorbing aluminum into my already failing brain.

Water leaks in the middle as it parcolate and when I pour. Returning and re ordering to see if this one is a lemon.

I love this little machine. It works just as it should and the espresso tastes great. I have not had any negative experiences using this machine.
