Best Tablet Weaving pattern book on the market, bar none!
This is the best tablet weaving book on the market, bar none! The directions are clear, easy to understand, and concise. The patterns are not medieval, but they are beautiful. I use this book to teach classes in tablet weaving, and recommend it to all my students in 3 states. I make belts and trim for medieval garb and sell it easily because the patterns are so very pretty. What I like the best is that this book tells/shows you 2 or 3 varieties of each pattern. It explains that it you turn your cards this way for this many turns, you get this pattern. If you turn them that way for that many turns, you get this other pattern. No other book gives you these choices. I am thrilled with what these writers have done in this book and I have my fingers crossed that they will do another book with more patterns in the very near future. The pics below are all patterns from this book that I have made (except the orange belt on the far right). You can see how beautiful they are and so very easy to make. Bravo John Mullarkey and your co-writers!

Great Patterns, Beautiful Book
I’m still a beginner, but I love looking at tablet weaving patterns. I’ve not warped one of these yet, but I’m planning to soon. I just need to decide which one to start with. The layout is wonderful–the patterns are easy to understand, and it’s great to have the variations right there, with such clear illustrations; the photographs of the bands are lovely, and it’s great to have them labeled–helps with dreaming and planning.

Good Tablet Weaving Pattern Source
I had been looking for additional pattern inspiration and this book is going to be very helpful. Very good illustrations and clear pattern charts help me visualize my own variations.

So many bands so little time
Clear instructions. Helpful if you already know how to warp up with cards.

You would be better off buying an instruction guide or taking a class ...
This is a pattern book only, not an instruction book. You would be better off buying an instruction guide or taking a class on tablet weaving if you've never tried it before. If you can, you should definitely take a weaving class from John Mullarkey himself, he is a very good teacher.

tablet weavers pattern book
I thought this was a book to instruct, but it is only patterns. The patterns are simple and easy to follow! I 'wait to warp up and dive into these patterns! I'm glad I bought this book!

It says it all in the title
This is a wonderful book of patterns. If you are looking for lessons or history there are lots of other books and web pages. It's in FULL color with different turning sequences for most of the patterns. As one of the other reviewer said this book has patterns that have ALL of the cards manipulated all at the same time and in the same direction. The patterns start with ones for 6 cards and go up to 54 cards.
