I am super pleased with the purchase. It is a solid table set. It's all metal pipes and bolts. This is super strong and looks really good.Two seats arrived broken, I called the number that came with the instructions and they immediately shipped me the broken parts.With a package this heavy it is expected that someone might drop it and I'm glad to see the company backing up the product like this. They didn't even ask me for order number, just name, address and part numbers.

The table is beautiful and sturdy but wow a huge pain to assemble. The kit comes with 2 Allen wrenches. I assume because one wears out lol. Guys do us all a favor and supply a correct size wrench that fits a powered impact driver or drill. It would cut the assembly time to a reasonable amount. Even changing the hardware to Phillips head so we can use our own tools. Better yet, torx. Most everyone has those bits these days.

Before buying this product I read the reviews and they were pretty much spot on. I will review the pros first then the cons. The table was delivered a day earlier than listed which made me very happy! This table is great quality, very sturdy, and perfect for small kitchens. I like that it is a counter height table and still fit comfortably in my small kitchen. Ok, now the cons. The table came well packaged, but I could tell that through shipping it had seen better days. I think the rough handling was due to the box being VERY heavy. The UPS driver left the box haphazardly thrown in our bushes and didn't bother to knock to let us know it was outside. My only complaint about the table is that it was no doubt dropped because the corner of the tabletop had a small area that was damaged. I could have called customer service and requested a new tabletop, but I didn't want to wait for the replacement so I will mend that myself. The instructions were easy to follow, but the hardware that was given to you made the job harder and longer. If the company supplied regular screws, a drill would have made the job go a lot quicker.Other than that the table is worth it. I would recommend.

I didn't cancel this order in time, so when it showed up at our door my wife decided 4 me that we would keep the set. I'm a 76 yr. old man with many frailties, my wonderful wife is 70 and she has some problems physically. I do have a caregiver 29yrs. of age and very helpful. Between the three of us it took about 3 hrs. to assemble the table and all four (4) chairs. It is amazingly sturdy and both my wife and my caregiver were very pleased with the outcome. SO AM I!

Let me start by saying I love this table. It is a beautiful color, sturdy and not that bad to put together (albeit a little time consuming to put together). If it were not for the terrible customer service this would get a better review. Two of my chair seats came in split and when I messaged the seller they said my only options were to take everything I had put together (the whole table and two of the chairs) and return it because they could not send individual replacement parts or still take everything apart, send it back and get a refund. I called the manufacture (Whalen) and they said they could get me the spare parts no problem. I don't know why the seller could not do this but at least I was able to get the parts I needed because again I love the table. It fits our apartment space quite nicely.

Great deal for the money. Admittedly, it helps to be handy with tools and assembling furniture given the assembly involved. Only issues I had was with the ID stickers on the parts (if they were visible after assembly they were a pain to get off. Lighter adhesive would be good), and the screws to attach the bottoms to the frames were not very good quality. The heads snapped off on a few of them. Note to designer: you could really make this a clean looking set if you used flat head bolts and counter sunk holes, so the bolt heads would be flush with the surface. All of these are minor details, so gave it 5 stars. Just be ready to carve out 2+ hours for assembly.

I purchased two sets for a game room in my home. One of the packages came severely damaged on the outside but all pieces were in the box and no damage to the set. Assembly was easy - time consuming for the first chair or two but once we had the system down, everything went together perfectly. I selected metal vs wood assembly hoping that the assembly would be faster and the manufacturer didn't let me down. All pieces lined up perfectly and there were even a few extra screws included. Only downfall is the small wood screws to attach seat to chair. Several heads of these wood screws snapped off under the pressure of hand tightening with regular screwdriver. We decided to buy better screws for the seats and also placed a bead of adhesive to help support good contact between wooden seat and metal chair frame. Excellent set!

Check out this set on Walmart.com because right now it's cheaper there (July 2020), look under "Better Homes & Gardens Austen Dining Set"This dining set was easy for my husband and I to build together. The wood looks even nicer in person and we love the foot rests on the chairs. Definitely happy with this purchase but I was annoyed when I saw it cheaper on another site.
