I won't be reading this to my grandbaby.
I'm sorry. This book is weird. I can't even read it. It's fine until you get to the part where a grown woman gets in her car and straps a ladder to it so that she can break into her grown son's house to physically rock him to sleep. WT#??? How this book is one of the highest rated books on Amazon I can't understand. Hopefully people in the free library will enjoy it because that's where it's going.

A wonderful book.
People who give this book a bad review just don't get "Love You Forever". Yes, the mother does some strange things - it's a children's book, the world of talking giraffes and flying cacti. Nobody's reading like a lifestyle manual or an autobiography. The silly things are meant to be unbelievable and gasp-worthy. They're meant to be things we might even have considered doing in our craziest moments. And as for the kid making mess and driving her crazy but she still "loves him forever", is that not exactly how we feel about our kids? I would have thought unconditional parental love would be a very important lesson to teach children. Nowhere is she saying she enjoys or condones the behaviour, in fact her son at some points drove her mad, but she always loved him. Which is how it should be. This is a wonderful story that I, as a mother of a son, did find very emotional. It made me think of all the little rituals my son and I share. The role replacement aspect is very powerful too. I bought this for my son for his first birthday and loved reading it to him. It's a very welcome addition to his little library and I would recommend it to all parents and children of any ages.

Love You Forever
My gerontology professor in graduate school read Love You Forever to our class one evening. My tears started to flow. Listening to this charming and lovely story was a very emotional experience. A memorable experience that remains with me. This morning, a friend on social media asked for assistance in recommending favorite books for children. Immediately my thoughts went to Love You Forever. The truth is, this book is highly recommended reading for babies, young children, tweens, teens and adults of all ages. It is one of the most beautiful, sentimental, and empathetic written books of all time.I discovered myself and my mother in each word. It was as though the author knew my personal story. It's a universal story, reaching across all cultures, ethnicities, ages and genders.A mother held her new baby and vvery slowly rocked him back and forth,And while she held him, she sang:I'll love you forever,I'll like you for always,As long as I'm livingmy baby you'll be.On the last day of class my gerontology professor gave each student a copy of Love You Ever. It has a cherished place in my home library. The great news is Love You Forever can be purchased on Amazon.

Still amazing after all these years
This book will forever hold a dear place in my heart. My mother started out reading it to me when I was very young, and as I learned to read we began reading it together. I'm not a very emotional person, but I am a momma's boy. This story is so sweet and touching that to this very day, me and my mom sign our holiday and birthday cards to eachother with "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my (baby/mommy) you'll be".Fast forward 20 years and I now have a daughter of my own who just turned 1. I'm hoping to be able to share that same connection with her, and bought the book again since I couldn't find the copy I used to have. Just to see if it was still as amazing as I remembered it being, I immediately read through it when I received it. Again, I'm not a very emotional person usually...but about 3/4 of the way through the book my voice began to break and I had to take pauses to wipe my eyes. It's still amazing, and always will be.

Get the tissues before reading....
I never knew the real meaning behind the book for many years. My oldest son is 14. I have been reading it for that long as I have a 6 & 3 yr old as well. I cry every single time. Every time. I just bought it for my friends who are expecting their first. I hope it touches them as it did me.

Creepy!
Ok was it just me or is this book just way too weird?? The creepy illustrations of the mom crawling into the bedroom then driving to rock a grown man to sleep... uhmmm sorry no. I didn’t even bother returning it, I just threw it in the trash.

Classic - Makes you Cry Every time
An incredible classic that will crush you every time you read it. If you’re trying to instill the sentiment that you will always love your little one through thick and thin while also making them wonder why mommy and daddy cry so much while reading a children’s book then this is the book for you.Seriously though I think this book is a required addition to anyone’s library.

A message to my 32 year old son . . . That a Mothers love is unconditional
I bought this book when my sons where young and we loved it but it nearly a l ways m are me cry.My son's are grown now, the eldest 32, however he and I have had s strained relationship for a while for reasons that are not I'mportant. Today, I sent him a text, to try and express the unconditional love a mother feels and found myself quoting from this book, with tears streaming down my face. So thank you Amazon prime, I have found the book, cried a fresh while orderingand a copy for my son - which will be with him tomorrow. No response to my text yet, but I hope it will touch his heart

Very odd
I liked the first few pages of this book, and I understand that it is dealing with the important subject of death (specifically of a parent), but I found parts of the book to be very weird and even disturbing. A mother driving across town in the night to creep into her adult son’s house to cradle him when he’s asleep??! I won’t be reading this book to my son!

Depressing, a bit creepy.
The story is weird, a little creepy and quite depressing. Not good for emotional parents. The idea behind it is cute but it made me cry reading it to my baby. I then gave it to my husband to read to the baby and he cried too, then said “why would you read this to a child?” We’ve not picked it up again :(

Who’s Crying? It’s Everybody!
Does anyone actually get to the end of this book when they read it to their kids? My husband and I have both attempted to read it to our newborn daughter. The first time, our daughter cried; the second time, I couldn’t even make it past the second page before tearing up. This is an incredibly touching and emotional storybook. It truly is a classic!
