Works great so far!
I've been really pleasantly surprised by the 4" antiscratch tape. We've had problems with one of our cats sharpening his claws on the couch and our box spring. Previously tried a spray that I bought at the pet store - nice orange scent, but completely ineffective.Received the Finehous anti-scratch tape just a couple of days after ordering, and applied right away. The tape itself was easy to start and apply, and the white paper backing peeled off easily. So far it's worked beautifully. The cat does NOT like the stickiness of the tape!As noted in other reviews, this stuff is STICKY. Has made it a little trickier to make the bed, as the sheets will sometimes stick to the tape momentarily, but that small inconvenience is well worth it to prevent the box spring from being torn to shreds.Last but not least, it's practically invisible. We have an open floor plan, so our couch is visible from all sides. I had no idea my husband had even applied the tape until he pointed it out.

Easy to apply and is saving our sofa
Our cat has been a fan of attacking the side of our couch for a while now and this tape has been a lifesaver. It is very easy to apply and stuck to our tweed sofa without issue. It also instantly freaked out our cat and stopped him from attacking the sofa. The tape is very sticky and will pick up dust, loose threads, etc, so we replaced the tape after a week and put a new strip on -- not an issue since this roll is quite long, making it good value for the money. At first, we covered the side of the sofa that the cat attacked, but the second time around, we just strategically placed a few strips, and the cat has continued to stay away. We also didn't have an issue with any residue left on the couch after removing the first set of strips, which I appreciated. This has been a cheap and easy fix to help protect our sofa.

Ruined Furniture, Meowser Proof
Update: I would NOT recommend this tape. Yes, it keeps kitty off but also ruins your furniture. I'm back to blankets over my ruined furniture.I have had our furniture covered in blankets so long to protect it from our beloved meowser, I nearly forgot what is looked like. It became a game, cover, uncover, cover, uncover especially when company came over. So I decided on a new method, double sided tape. The up side, it does work. I've watched our girl jump on the couch and pick up her feet in disbelief of her paws sticking and jump right back down. The down side, although it is clear, you can still see it and you and your body parts or clothing will stick to it. My husband says he'd rather have the blankets back but I'm sticking to the tape. Pardon the punn. As cumbersome as it is to put on your furniture, get the wide tape. I can't imagine having tiny strips. It's easier to put on if you partially lay it on top of another strip. Plan on it taking some time.Update: Our kitty doesn't jump on the furniture often and it's still working as a deterrent. However, when I've gone to peel the tape off, it leaves a residue or indentation from where the tape was. So it's a protection from claws but damages furniture in the long run. Which is worse of two evils?

So far, really good!
I liked that this tape came in a 4 inch width. My cat's favorite spot for destruction is the corner of the wood paneling and the base board in my dining room. This tape wrapped around the edges well. I didn't find it difficult to separate the tape from the backing. It took a little effort, but nothing major. I did mess up one strip and had to start over. The tape came right off, no residue, no damage to the wood. So far, the tape has adhered well and the cat seems to be leaving it alone. It has been only a few days, but so far, this is a winner.

Use it, but it will be permanent
The new kitten and older cats like to jump o the bar stools to get to the kitchen island. While the older cats learned not to, the kitten was constantly trying to get on the counter, so we placed some tape along the edge of the bar. The kitchen counters are not the best quality. Circa 1990's ugly Corian. So it's not like it was that sturdy anyway. However, we had the tape on the edge and then, when the kitten and cats learned, we tried to remove it. "Try" being the operative word.It left behind a residue that no cleaners would touch. We ended up taking a straight razor to it, and it, along with the top layer of Corain, finally came off. There's got to be a better way. However--using it temporarily on carpets, under curtains you do't want you kitten climbing? It works well. It's on some tile downstairs, so we'll see how that works. We also wrapped it around MOSTLY destroyed wooden legs of a bookshelf after wrapping the legs (thus hiding scratch marks) with some funky duct tape. But obviously, that tape, nor the cat scratch training tape, will likely never be removed because it will take anything--wood finish, leather, etc. with it.So while it DID "train" my kitten, it did ruin several surfaces. So depending on your needs, it works, but not as universally as the claims state.

Works well 2 out of three cats
This tape is good quality stuff. it didn't leave anything behind when removed and it only took a day for two of my cats to learn to keep clear of it, So I would say it works well. I have a third cats that's a little odd though. he liked the tape I had trouble keeping him from pulling it off and licking it so I would make sure you can keep an eye on your cats when you first use the tape just to be sure.

Tatie CAUTION with certain fabrics
I can see how this product would serve its purpose to discourage animals from wanting to touch the furnishings its applied to. THAT SAID, I regret applying this to my couch. The texture of the fabric has been changed and I think could easily ruin certain other fabrics. I also feel like a sticky residue remains on the fabric once tape was removed. Might not be terribly noticeable to some but I regret applying this to my couch-I created a new problem trying to avoid another. I did test a small area before and it showed some but not a lot but having it on for a month and in a larger area made it even worse. :(
