This is a great product. I love this vanilla for its flavor, ease of use and luscious smell. It does have color, it will make white a cream color. It has no alcohol. The vanilla bean paste is viscous and will not thin something out as it flavors it. I use it with my favorite vanilla extract for an intense vanilla flavor.

This paste is absolutely one of my new favorite baking items. The bottle is small but mighty! A little goes a long way; it has a good smell, thick consistency, and makes your baked goods taste amazing! If you are thinking of making the switch from extract to gel just do it! This bottle is small but it is a great value for the price point. Cannot wait to try this paste in my pineapple cheesecake recipe!

When I give a review, I like to give the positive and any negative after I have tried and or used the product multiple times. I actually used this paste in place of my traditional vanilla extract that I was purchasing from Watson's. The size of the bottle was ok considering the the quality of the product. It is about the size of a large bottle of the migraine medication that starts with an "E". :-) Pros: I used this when making a pan of no bake banana pudding. Babyyyyyy, let me tell you it took my banana pudding from a solid 8 to a resounding 10+. One thing that I never liked about traditional extracts is that IMO you can always taste that alcohol base in the back of your palate. I do not taste ANY of this with the vanilla bean paste. In fact the taste sort of reminds me of a vanilla tootsie roll. The paste has a depth of flavor that the extract simply does not possess. I can envision using this moving forward for all of my baking needs. My sweet potato pies came out so good, it would make you want to smack the legendary Ms Patti LaBelle herself chilee. *chefs kiss, they were ahmazing... Cons: There are only a couple of cons. I ordered a couple of items in this particular order and I was shocked that this bottle was not wrapped or packaged in a way to avoid spillage or cracks in the bottle. This was in those bubble wrap envelopes that Amazon uses and IMO this was very poor packaging. With food orders with Amazon you cannot send anything back so the least they could do is wrap this well. Secondly, I have another bottle of vanilla bean paste that I purchased from Home G00ds and it had a thicker consistency that I loved better for non-baked items. I do feel that when you add it to something that you are going to bake that some of the potency of flavor is lost. So this is why I gave it 4 stars. I took off 1/2 a point for poor packaging and 1/2 a point because I wish the consistency was thicker. I will say I would purchase this again for sure. The vanilla has a wonderful flavor and elevates whatever dish you are adding this too.
