Christianity isn't of Jesus, it's of Paul! Jesus was Yeshua the Christos.
A masterpiece for the seeker of the true Yeshua of history. The truth of Yeshua (Jesus is the Greek) , meaning Joshua, was destroyed by the orthodox Roman church.Ever wonder how it is that a Roman authority put God/Yeshua to death and then a mere 60 years later created a religion dedicated to his name? Power, control, assurance that in creating a religion, a Roman Catholic religion, the Roman authority would stand forever in future. This is why the crucifix exists. The cross crucifixion was the most evil methods of torture in the Roman controlled territories. It was invented as a killing device by the Persians. But the Romans perfected it.Jesus is nailed to the crucifix to show the world that the material Roman powers killed God. And he did not rise from the dead when he is still nailed to the device that achieved that end.Catholics aren't Christian. Ask any Catholic and they'll tell you they are Catholic. They revere the holy mother church and that is the emissary between themselves and God.The scriptures tell Christians, call no man Father for the only Father you have is in Heaven. This book explains how the orthodox church hid the truth of the itinerant rabbi Yeshua. A man who was the lover of the Magdalene and with whom he sired children. The Council of Nicea, a Roman commission called to the table by the pagan emperor Constantine, outlined what it meant to hold faith in the teachings of Jesus. They literally created Christianity. Later, other councils convened to decide on what would be promoted as the book related to the faith. If you look at the new testament 2/3rds of it is credited to a man who was called by the gnostic (knowledge) faithful at the time, "The Imposter". Saul of Tarsus. (Paul is the Greek). A Pharisee, who admitted he was a Pharisee in his letters to the churches he founded. And who was also a Roman citizen. A man who never knew the living Jesus. Who claimed he met Jesus while traveling the road to Damascus with two companions. "Jesus" , who appeared to him as a brilliant light in the midst of a strong wind and spoke to him, or not, because there are two totally different accounts of this encounter in scripture, as a thunderous voice.Jesus warned his Disciples that after he had departed this world there would be those who would say, come see, here is Jesus, there is Jesus. Do not believe them. He also warned that these false teachers would perform signs and wonders to "prove" they were of Christ.Saul of Tarsus did this very thing. He fulfilled everything Yeshua/Jesus warned about false prophets.Ever wonder why this world, having followed a prince of peace for over 2000 years, is so full of evil and wrong doing? And it's getting worse all the time? Because the majority of the world's population is Pauline. They're following the letters of Paul as gospel truth. When in fact that what he encountered was the light bringer, who , as is described in the old testament, a voice in the whirlwind. The ultimate victory for the adversary of God, Lucifer, who is and was then, lord of this world who prowls like a hungry lion seeking souls to devour. He convinced a man who hunted down the first "Christians" (They were first called Christian in Antioch (Turkey)) , to be killed as blasphemers against the Jewish religion. He led him to believe he was the Christ and he taught him how to lead people away from the teachings of Jesus. You can find all sorts of sites that will side by side compare the contradictions of Paul's teachings to that of Jesus. This book clears it all up. People today are following a false religion. And that's why this world is still damned. If you don't want to spend your money check with your local library to see if they carry this. Or, if they don't, ask them if they have an "Inter-Library Loan" office. This is a program wherein libraries loan materials to one another. If you want to stop being a Pauline, follower of the doctrines of Paul's invention, when the gospels are all hearsay written as much as 60 years after Jesus died, read this book. And ignore those who condemn the Gnostics. The truth will set you free.Have you ever said to yourself, Christianity just doesn't make any sense! That's God telling you you're right. Now, all you have to do is take the time, or spend the money, to find the truth.I've had this book in my personal library for years. It's a God send.

Enlightened thinking
If you were raised as a Christian and were bothered by the contradictions in the bible, you will enjoy this book. We all know the horrors in history inflicted by various religions. Spirituality should not be destructive, but a means for the evolution of humanity. Here is a bullet list quote from the book regarding fundamentalist beliefs:“The Bible is the word of God. Ridiculous idea. There is only one way to God. Obvious nonsense. The Day of Judgement and the resurrection of the flesh. Spooky ideas. The world is a bad place and we should hate it. In the face of the wonders all around us that's just ungrateful.Eternal damnation. Horrible, grotesque, really, really bad idea.God likes some people more than others. Please! What sort of God is that?Sex is evil. If you believe this you must be doing it wrong.God is male. What could that possibly mean? Does God have a penis?Men are more spiritual than women. This idea must have been thought up by a man who never had a mother.God has opinions — and only some people know what they are. That's got to be one of the worst ideas ever, because it is regularly used to justify a whole edifice of bad ideas.”I remember being a young teenager and enduring a blistering sermon regarding original sin. According to the preacher, it was our fault that Jesus was persecuted on the cross. I hated myself; how is that healthy, helpful or inspiring?Gnostic Christianity had a cosmic belief. If you are interested in an explanation of Gnosticism, this book has an excellent explanation.

Comprehensive and Controversial
This book is a follow-up to Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy's 2000 (excellent) book - The Jesus Mysteries. If you enjoyed that book, you will definitely want to read this one. If you didn't read the Mysteries book, I strongly suggest you read that one first, and then this one. The book is well written and thoroughly documented, and it covers an impressive eclectic range of subjects and time periods. The authors continue the theme that Jesus was a composite of the myths and legends of the pagan world, especially the gnostic tradition which drew from the Greeks (especially Pathagoras and Plato). Then they go into the philosophy of gnosticism, often comparing and contrasting the gnostic view with the competing orthodox Christian view. Quite frankly, gnostic philosophy is not an easy read, and while Freke & Gandy do a good job trying to explain it, readers unaccustomed to depth philosophies may find the going a little tough. The journey is worth it for the diligent student.
