iFrogzSummit Case for iPad 2 - Black with Blue Snap-On Shell (IPAD2-SUM-BLU)

My husband and I both have these for our ipad2s and love them. Because they are hard on all sides they protect very well. I dropped mine on concrete right on the corner and there is a slight crack in the colored part of the case but the iPad is safe and sound.Also, I love that it is a smart cover and turns the iPad off when it closes.It does make the iPad a little heavy once it is all put together, but I was ok with that as long as it was protected.UPDATE: after only 3 months of use and no more dropping another corner cracked off on my case and my husband cracked up as well. Getting a new case again... Wouldn't buy this one again. Not worth the money.

I liked the idea of this case. Soft leather outside with a hard protective shell, and incorporates the smart technology. I also liked that you could use it in the "stand mode" using the channels cut into the front flap. The fit was quite snug, which is good, obviously. We did end up dropping it, accidentally, and the plastic cracked. It wasn't even that hard of a drop, nor was it on that hard of a surface; it fell on some laminate flooring. But, I'd rather crack my $30 case than crack my $600 iPad. That wasn't that big of a problem as it was really only a surface crack. The real problem was that the front flap did not lay flat; it "bowed up," like it was warped or something. So, the great "smart technology" that this was supposed to utilize, didn't. The cover would close, but because of the bow, the magnets wouldn't make contact. I even tried flexing the flap by hand and trying to get it to lay flat, but no luck. I tried storing the iPad face down, hoping to straighten out the flap, but again, no luck. I ended up returning this because I felt $30 was a lot to spend on something that didn't work as advertised. This could have been a defective one, but I didn't feel like finding out. Buyer beware.

I returned the product the same day it arrived. I ordered the ifrogz summit to have extra protection against damage and access to all ports on my iPad 2. I liked the color options and detail to stitching. The product arrived sooner than expected and was well packaged. The case fit well and there seemed little chance of the iPad falling out. The thickness and cushion seemed to provide additional impact protection and activated the smart cover technology. Unfortunately the grooves in the case were either not rigid enough or deep enough to support the iPad in any of the advertised viewing positions. Even with a light touch my iPad would slide out and over the grooves. Typing presented an even greater challenge. The ifrogz case also had a strong, negative odor. Though the odor may have faded over time, the ability to use the case to support the iPad for viewing would not improve. Consequently, I returned the ifrogz summit case.

I've tried a lot of iPad 2 cases, and when I first got this one, I really liked it: It was exactly the colour I wanted; it was functional and good-looking. I also liked that it covers more of the iPad than most of the iPad 2 cases out there.HOWEVER, after a few weeks' use, I took the case off and noticed something horrific: The hard plastic shell was slightly deformed in one corner, and this has caused the case to scatch and dent that corner of the iPad.I bought this (expensive) case fot it to PROTECT my $600 investment, not for it to DAMAGE it!!!!I am tempted to ask for my money back, not just for the case, but to buy a new iPad too, as mine is no ruined.

I love my new iFrogz Summit case for the iPad2! I haven't had mine very long, but I'm NOT having the problems the other review mentions. My iPad2 stands up just fine in the grooves in the case cover. The iPad2 snapped into the hardshell easily and I like the protection this design combination of hardshell and folio gives. Plus, the black folio looks cool with the pop of color (bright blue, in my case) from the hardshell. The cover part of the case turns the iPad on when opened and turns it off (sleep) when closed. I am very happy with this case and got it for a great price from Amazon.

Bought this for my Mom's iPad. Does not close all the way to automatically shut off the device. Defective. Would not recommend.

Nice cover for my iPad. It looks great - not cheap. It holds my iPad as advertise and it's very sturdy. Not sure about some of the other reviews - maybe they got defective items. All in all, I highly recommend!

i bought this product as a gift for a coworker for her birthday.as far as i know she loves it.at least that is what she tells me(being polite perhaps).i haven't had a chance to really check it out but the ifrogz ipod cases were very good so i figured these would also be good.

Der ursprünglichen Begeisterung ist jetzt die Ernüchterung, ja eigentlich Entäuschung gefolgt. Nach mehreren Wochen löst sich die in meinem Fall blaue Kunststoffschale allmählich auf. Obwohl mir mein iPad kein einziges Mal runtergefallen ist Splittern 3 von 4 Ecken einfach ab. Scheinbar ist der Kunstoff zu spröde. Ich habe das iPad bisher nur 3 x aus der Schale rausgenommen - daran dürfte es nicht liegen. Die Funktionalität von dem Case wäre perfekt - wenn die Qualität stimmen würde :-((((

Leider ist das Plastikcase nach dem 2.ten Herausnehmen an einer Ecken schon gebrochen.Ansonsten wenn die Qualität des Plastiks besser wäre, wäre es wirklich ein perfektes Case.
