soundKey is an award-winning revolution in mobile music. Hi-Fi streaming services like TIDAL mean fantastic quality is available to subscribers, but phones lack the necessary hardware to get the best from this data. soundKey unlocks that data, using our years of expertise in high-resolution DAC and amplifier design. Cyrus quality audio is now available to everyone. You think the sound is ok when you plug your expensive headphones into your phone? Wait until you hear this! To explain a bit more scientifically, music is stored on your phone in various types of digital files. The DAC (Digital-to-Analogue Converter) in most phones, laptops and tablets is designed to hit a cost - that means it's never going to deliver the kind of audio quality that your music files or streaming services are actually capable of delivering. soundKey unlocks your audio, by accessing the raw digital files on your device and processes them using our special hi-fi DAC and amplifier. The analogue music output from soundKey delivers much more detail, more impact, greater precision and a good dollup of WOW.

Poor design
somewhat disappointing product. Maybe I set my expectations too high but I find it to be an underwhelming sound. Don't get me wrong there is a tangible improvement but most of the benefit is wiped out by the experience issues. There is constant annoying background hiss which gets louder when you start playing anything. No fault according to Cyrus (they always say that) but funny how a lot of people on forums mention the same but don't have issues with other DACs. Horrible clicks and pops when you skip tracks too. I don't accept the nonsense about usb audio implementation - it's a product designed for mobile use it should be compatible with a wide range of popular devices. As a final thought I would also consider how often you want to drag around the dongle - it's not very practical for phone use unless you plan on staying still for a while - in bed or lounging on the sofa maybe.

Love the Soundkey more than ever.
Great sounding DAC with my Denon AH5000 all day at work. Wow it is lively with dynamics and impact without ever being harsh. I can't believe its so musical just inline with my hi res files from my Samsung phone. Super deal and I always go high end in audio.

great value-very portable
Good sound in a small package at a good price. A little clunky to use with IOS but still very portable.

Big Improvement
A big improvement over the Fiio K1 which is fine for lower end earphones but in my experience distorts the sound with mid-range earphones such as Flare Audio Jet 3 or B&W C5/2, especially when using 16 or 24 bit streaming. Results with the Soundkey can vary depending on earphones used, generally speaking it does offer a fairly warm, natural sound, but it can be influenced by the original recording and it does sometimes over emphasise bass and occasionally the treble can become glassy.Taking into account this was bought at discounted cost and all required cables are included, I'm generally happy with it and it's certainly a worthwhile upgrade.*I paid £59 and Richer Sounds have now honoured their 3 month Qobuz deal for the same value. As I'm already a subscriber it effectively makes this free of charge.

Hoax?
Bought this DAC mainly for listening on my tablet or phone. I have Pink Floyd Sennheiser headphones... Tablet (Samsung S2) died after connecting it to DAC. Phone (CAT) can play music only on Onkyo player. YouTube, VLC stutters badly... Although I had no issues connecting it to laptop, but improvement in sound quality on laptop is practically unnoticeable. And there's no possiblity to use ASIO, which leaves a big question what's the purpose of this device. I'm not returning it, because I'm too lazy to do it.. Just wanted to warn you guys, if you consider buying this so called DAC.

Come on Cyrus a proper cable for the iPhone.
Small and very good sound for the money but clumsy connectivity for iPhone users let it down badly.I auditioned the Cyrus against an Audioquest Cobalt and actually slightly preferred the Cyrus the Audioquest was slightly smoother but certainly couldn’t justify the price difference. Will try a Chord Mojo next.

Best buy if you love music on your fone.
A good friend recommended a soundkey , its revived my love of music, small and uses very little power but sure does pack a punch music wise !! I plug it into my galaxy S8 and the other end I got some over ear AKGy50 headphones(highly recommend) really brings the music to life its vibrant clear and punchy with plenty of bass , unfortunately finding hd , flac or lossless audio can be problem(limited amount on YouTube but even so it still brings lower quality music to life ...

Smooth sound
I was not expecting too much but was very pleased with the sound quality and ease of use. In the end, I decided that this provided a smoother and more pleasant sound (and much less tiring) from my Mac Book Air than the previous Audiolab Q-Dac I have been using up to know.
