I bought these to extend some Cree BR30 bulbs I put in some cans that had R40's bulbs. Needed to extend them down to bring them out closer to the trim rings (used one and works fine) thought maybe I would have to use two together buy one is enough. I did have a concern about heat and the plastic on these, so I put one on a Cree BR30 bulb and into an open lamp and left it on for an hour to see if plastic got hot... The fins on the base of the LED bulb got hot, but the plastic on the extender only got warm so I guess I am safe. I don't think I would use these with an incandescent bulbs for fear of the plastic melting. Build quality seems fine for the price - I am happy.

Fantastic Idea. One did not work, but it may have been my socket that was the problem and not the extender...

I bought these because the conventional round bulb TCP LED 60w equivalents I purchased were quite recessed up into my can lighting, which are designed for spots. These extenders will bring out your bulb about an additional 1". They improved the light coming down into the space enough to be notice-able, let's say 25%. I recommend these, particularly given the very reasonable price.

Poor quality materials. Doesn't fit tightly in the socket.

I had some canned lighting, and I wanted to install a newer dome-style cover. However, this required that the bulb be lower than what the can would allow. I just needed an inch or so, so I purchased these. Turns out the plastic is NOT heat-proof. I had a normal edison style bulb and the glass was able touch the plastic. It melted, caused the light to blow, and fatigued the glass. When I went to unscrew it -- and replace the bulb -- I didn't realize it was fatigued and glued (via the melting) to this extension. I twisted the glass from the extension and it broke in my hand, causing a bloody cut!I would recommend these for fluorescent bulbs. They A) don't get as hot as normal 60W bulbs, and B) have a plastic base that sits well past these extenders.Not sure why they ever got rid of Bakelite, this plastic is just not suited for high heat.

I bought these to extend some led flood lights I bought to replace old 100 watt floods. They are the perfect length, they hey screwed in easily to the sockets and the bulbs screwed in easily to the extender. I've had them six months now. They work great. I bought the set three times. I recommend them.

Little to say. They fit standard US sockets and extend the bulbs. I used them in canister lights in my kitchen with LED bulbs. The extenders allow more light since you can see the bulb instead of just the reflected light from the canister.

believe it or not, there are extenders out there that are garbage! These worked well
