Excellent Earplugs
These are the only type of earplugs that provide both strong noise protection and comfort for me. I like the way they mold to the shape of my ear and are sticky enough to be reused up to about ten times per pair. I understand that they may not work for everyone, but they are certainly worth a try.

Great earplug for sleeping
I have been using these for 10+ years to sleep since I traveled for work. They are soft, comfortable, and just quiet enough to block out unwanted noise. I can still hear my alarm go off if its set. I use them on airplanes also. One pair lasts me at least a month, which is good because the price has gone up quite a bit.

These are the most effective earplugs I've found
These are great. I don't really care for the foam type ear plugs. If I'm using them for sleep. foam ear plugs take a minute or so to fully expand. During that time, you get to hear a symphony of loud, annoying noises, which is not exactly what I want when trying to fall asleep. Then, about half the time, foam ear plugs dislodge quickly and require re-positioning. If that doesn't occur, they very likely work their way loose during the night so that they are not fully in place in the morning. On the other hand, these plugs are like someone hit mute on the universe. You need to carefully read the instructions on use, and cover the ear canal, as opposed to inserting into the canal, but they quickly attenuate sound very effectively, and they stay put. Be advised, you may sleep through alarms, phones, riots, gunshots, sonic booms, etc. For travel, they are great. Just get good at lip-reading the flight attendant. You can't hear squat with them in place, and people really can't see that you have them in unless they look from your side. You can re-use them several times as well. Good product.

SLEEP AWAITS!
I recently purchased these earplugs and they have truly transformed my sleep quality. Now I can sleep through snoring, thunderstorms, fireworks, and sometimes even my alarm. These earplugs do an outstanding job at reducing noise. They are also aptly named "Pillow Soft" for a reason. They are incredibly comfortable to wear, and once inserted, you hardly notice them. The soft, pliable silicone molds easily to the shape of your ear canal, ensuring a snug fit without any discomfort or pressure. They are also reusable which I definitely appreciate. A simple wash with mild soap and water, and they are ready to use again. Amazon’s 8 pack is the best price I could find. I don’t ever leave home without them! Say goodbye to sleepless nights!

My Favorite for Noise
These are different from earplugs that you push into your ear canal. Instead, you put them, kind of like caulking, into the outer ear chamber, and their "stickiness" holds them in place, which blocks the ear canal, hopefully eliminating noise (in my case). Depending on how much time I spend adjusting these when I put them in, they're as effective as the "push in" type of earplugs, with the added benefit of being much more comfortable. For me, the push in style earplugs were always moving around, self-inflating, and always irritated my ear canals. Because I need to regularly wear them (1 each very old dog and cat make a lot of noise at night), they weren't workable long-term. These are a dream, with no irritation. I don't always put them in right away, but "park" them on the edge of the nightstand, and insert them in the middle of the night (as they start to get noisy), with no problem. Updated on 3/7/16: After using almost all I had of the first two boxes of 12, I decided to try something another reviewer suggested: WASHING THEM once they become less sticky, and therefore, less effective. I use warm water and foaming hand soap (no moisturizing agents), and just skoosh them around for a bit, and rinse, then just air dry. They seem to air dry in about a half an hour. I also use a pair of tweezers to pick the head hair that's gotten stuck in them out. These two things restore at least 75% of the stickiness, which is what you need for soundproofing. I can then use them another 3-4 times. One negative, that I won't mark them down for, is that with a proper seal, the inside of your ear canals do get a bit wet, which I assume is from body heat/condensation. A swab takes care of that in the morning. I've used 2 pairs so far, and think I can go longer than 5 days with each if I wash them and let them dry naturally, to restore the stickiness, as someone else here has suggested. Because they don't go in your ear canal, they're not as "icky" as other plugs.

Inexpensive and Do a Good Job of Blocking Sound from Snoring Partner
These are essentially round discs made of a waxy-like substance that you insert into your ears and then mold and shape to cover the openings and seal out sound. The process is almost like playing with Play Doh or putty. They take some getting used to at first because the plugs are relatively big compared to the size of the openings in your ears (mine, anyway) and are very different than other types of ear plugs, such as the foam kind. On the whole I recommend them, though, because: 1) They do a really good job of blocking out sound, 2) They are comfortable to sleep in. The only complaints I have are: 1) The packaging - They come in a hard plastic case which keeps them clean and intact until use. The problem is when you try to put the plugs back into the case. Because you manipulate the plug they get a little bigger/flatter and no longer fit in easily. I would recommend getting a different case or little ceramic dish, etc. to store the plugs in on your nightstand or medicine cabinet in between uses, 2) They do have a tendency to stick to your hair so make sure all your hair is pulled away from your face/ears before and after putting them in. If you are a man with hairy ears you might experience a problem. Maybe shave or trim your ears first? I don't know. For people who have tried every solution under the sun, this is a relatively low risk and low cost investment and may very well work for you.

Macks really are pillow soft silicone earplugs. I have tried other brands when I couldn't get Macks and the silicone is hard and difficult to mold to your ear. Macks are easily pliable to mold to your ear and stay soft which makes it easier to sleep on either side. They also don't go in as deep as the foam earplugs that can go in too deep and hurt your ears. Macks are the best earplugs I have ever used and I won't use anything else from now on.
