If you make your own Cat5e or now Cat6 networking cables having different color boots can be a big help to differentiate different areas of an office or rooms in your home. If these cables are going to a large network switch you will have to come up with some type of labeling system for the multiple cable cables running to your network hub. Different color boots can be a major time saver. Remember you must put these on BEFORE you do any crimping of the RJ45 connectors and orient it properly for each end of the cable. For a bag of 50 the cost is miniscule, less than 10 cents apiece and they are substantial in thickness. Of course it is not like having a thermo molded connection. This way you make custom length cables that look pretty good and not have to worry about the connections bending with the boots on. Many colors available.

I notice there were a few negative comments made about the release levers being held down by the boot, so I was looking for this as an issue. Depending on the cable ends you buy, you may have this issue. The solution is very simple. Take a mini screw driver or drill bit, put it under the lever, bend the lever end down without bending the clip portion. Another locution is to use an exacto knife to cut the edges of the rubber so it raises higher but stil protects the clip. I am very happy with these and have not had the issue described.

quality is ok, but i order Gray Color, but get it in BLACK. i know, price is cheap, but i want to get what i ordered exactly, not anything else in random, its just not right! :\

There is only so much that can be said about these since it's such a simple product.These get the job done for sure, snagging is no longer a problem. Look good, but I will deduct a star since I feel that they could be a bit easier to use when trying to disconnect a cable from a network device. The plastic isn't all that pliable, so I have t press pretty hard to try and get my cable to release to wherever it's connected. I've used pre-manufactured cables with boots where disconnecting from a network device is much easier, as the plastic is more pliable - for this I will deduct a star.

These boots are nice. They're not too rigid, and are proper shape and size. They could be a little more rubbery, but I think its nice that they're firm.I use them with these RJ45 connectors ([...]) and they fit perfectly. I think there were a ton of other colors, which makes it even better. Reasonable price too.

Calling these strain relief boots is a bit of a misnomer, they offer no real strain protection, but anyone that has used something similar before should know that. They really ought to be called anti snag boots.These ones fit reasonably well, and hey, they are red right?If you have projects you are working with multiple networks, pick up the boots so you can color code your custom made cables so for example iSCSI SAN fabric A, iSCSI SAN fabric B, Private non routed LAN, and Public interface LAN are all on different colors. You'll never get your networks confused again! Of course the back of your servers might look like Rainbow Brite came after it, but that's a whole other story...

It is what it is on the package. A pack of 50 pieces of cable boots. Bought gray ones to match my CAT5 cabling. Will buy from seller again. Inexpensive and works. They're a bit on the stiff side (you're going to have to push your RJ-45 connector a little bit to get it in) but that's a good thing, means their build is great.

These are not the best quality, but they do the job. When sliding them over the plug, they often go too far up and don't sit correctly.
