Debra Lynn Professional Chamois Nail Buffer

Item pictured is not what was delivered. As pictured the handle looks clear orange or tortoise shell colored. What delivered was a bright solid yellow. Very disappointing.

It is so hard to find a good buffer. Guess the old fashion ones are a thing of the past. I was very happy to find this one on Amizon. It is really nice. I couldn't wait to use it when it arrived and was amazed at the shine I got with buffing cream. I still polish my nails and now the polish is so smooth, it is wonderful. I have to stop myself from buffing my nails too much. I so buff them more if I have polish on (I know it is strange) but it is good for circulation, shines up the polish and doesn't thin the natural nail.

This nail buffer is superior to the buffers that use the smooth side of the chamois against the nail. By using the rough side against the nail, the buffer holds more nail buffing cream, applies faster, and gives a faster shine than a smooth surface chamois. I have been looking for this type of buffer for a long time. I have two of the 7" smooth chamois buffers because it was all that I could find. They are now going to be used for jewelry cleaning. Excellent shipping speed from this seller.

I had never used a chamois buffer before but had read about them in old beauty books. THESE ARE NOT LIKE MODERN NAIL BUFFERS. It seems to do little to eliminate ridges on the nails and it does not produce a high gloss shine. I initially tried it dry and didn't see any results at all; so I looked up the instructions from  Beauty and Hair Dressing of 1912  about how to manicure nails, and tried it that way using vaseline and nail powder. Produced a nice matte sheen!

Doesn't shine nails as much as the blocks. Probably will buy a block also.

At the first use, most of the chamois part completely sloughed off. Unfortunately, I didn't try it out until after the possible return date.
