The NRS WRSI (Whitewater Research and Safety Institute) Current Helmet comes with an inexpensive price tag so you can paddle with the maximum safety that NRS helmets are known for. This multi-impact shell utilizes ABS plastic, polyurethane, and an EVA liner to dissipate impacts from trees and rocks. The Interconnect Retention System features nine EVA pads with different thicknesses to provide a completely customizable and very comfortable fit for any sized dome. WRSI's process uses wind-powered technology to create products without a lot of production waste.

Very comfortable helmet

Does Not Protect Ears
I sustained a concussion and ruptured eardrum in one of these. I then had to get a skin graft on my eardrum, plus suffered through two years of post-concussion syndrome as a result. I tipped over in my kayak, and a pyramid-shaped rock under the surface of the water hit me on the ear, where the helmet doesn't cover. At the time they didn't make ear coverage or full-face masks in their small/medium size. Maybe WSRI thought only larger people would be at risk? Or that only men and people with larger heads deserved that level of protection? Since then, I've bought their Moment full-face helmet, which I recommend over this helmet. People don't tell you that if your helmet doesn't cover your ears or face, you can hit those and cause permanent damage to your ears, eyes, nose, jaw, or teeth PLUS get a concussion. A full face helmet is very worth the money.
