Great Bleach with Amazing Results!
Okay first the packaging: I was surprised to get a box in the mail instead of a plastic tub. The bag the bleach was in was knotted tight enough that I needed pliers to undo it so no worries there. The box has the typical info on it but one thing I noticed is the ingredients list "ammonium persulfate" while the front lists "ammonia free formula". I don't know if ammonium persulfate is different from ammonia or not so please correct me if it is different. Also has a warning to keep of the scalp. I'd recommend trying as bleach on the scalp itches like a bitch. Use a brush instead of a bottle even if it's more time-consuming, your scalp will thank you.Second the use: It worked wonderfully. My dark brown-black hair has been bleached at least once every 3 to 4 months for 7 years with box bleach to high grade professional (all by myself, never a salon or beautician). It was getting the the white elastic-y effect even with my natural roots. So when I stumbled on this I was skeptical to see that it supposedly helped strengthen damaged hair. I tried this out the day I got it and wow did it work. My hair was soft and stronger than it had been for years (no breakage when dry or sleeping, some when wet and tangled). Using two Sally Beauty generic developers (instead of SATIN's so mixing brands works) to mix a 35v and waiting 35mins had my roots lifted to a nice light buttery gold color and the rest was the faintest yellowy tint of white. The page says 5-6 levels and the box says "past yellow stage" but I feel it was closer to 7-8. I'm no professional but based on my previous bleachings (including Schwarzkopf) I've never attained this lift without a 40v developer or extreme damage. And the brassy finish was bleached past so no need for a toner. However a second application did very little. Also, the mix needs 1:2 so a cream developer is recommended. I used a clear and it was dripping down the sides of my head about 30mins in. The smell is only really there when mixing and not there when waiting nor did I notice mush heat but I leave my treatments open air.Third adding color: I bleach my hair so I can color it rainbows. Bleach usually leaves my hair light enough for darker shades that fade slower or lighter shade that fade faster. SATIN, so far, took to the purple/blue/green dyes rather well. I cannot speak for time (I'll try to do an edit in a few months) but the color is vibrant with the purple actually staying as opposed to fading in the first wash. These are new brands I'm trying so that may have an effect or not.***EDIT*** So the color sticks but not the first dye job. I apply an assortment of colors to my hair but prefer cool colors i.e. greens, blues, and purples (Ion color brights and Argan color mostly) so this will be the color focus. The bad news is that true blues like navy, sapphire, and sky don't stick very well until the third application or so. Purples are similar however I've never had the best luck with that pigment whereas blues would go months between reapplication not days. Greens work much better but still need a quicker touch up than I'd like. I have found out that this stuff bleaches wonderfully but color takes a bit more to stick after this product. Fun news though - I've done so much testing with this stuff that my tips (the hair that first got this bleach) are stained a nice soft teal and it Ombrés from this darker pastel to the bleached blond amazingly smoothly! It's still hard to dye my hair other colors but if I do a blue or green it just fades to this again after a few monthsAlso my hair does seem healthier but I also use an argan oil shampoo and conditioner. Tip: the shampoo doesn't matter because that just cleans your hair it does nothing to fix it. The conditioner however is important and no matter which you decide on I'd recommend letting it sit as long as you can. I like to shampoo and condition first then, while the conditioner is sitting, wash mah body ;P These two in conjunction have made my hair nice and soft. Not pristine but healthy enough. Hope this helps! ***end EDIT ***Sorry I don't have pictures, I got too excited for the color ;)

Saved Me from a Hair Disaster
I have been dying my hair with dark auburn dyes (including this brand) and henna for more than 10 years to cover early greying. When I recently decided that the roots were coming in faster than I could handle and decided to just let it grow out, I turned to this to remove the layers of color before I toned it lighter. Was it the perfect color straight off - no. But as anyone who knows will tell you, henna is considered permanent. In my book, anything that will pull out henna (pure henna, not the stuff with metallic salts which would literally burn your hair off if you used chemicals) and leave you still with hair is an awesome product. I was then able to dye over the top of it with a lighter color that would blend better with the roots as they grow out.

This is definitely not the satin I have used for years. It does not lift my hair pass Orange
I'm not sure what the wrong with this product if it's even what it says it is because the satin I used to use with pull my hair white Within 20 minutes tops this I wore on my head for 45 minutes pretty much burned my head and it was still orange there is no way this is the real Satin

Great for damaged hair
I have very damaged hair and was looking for a bleach that wouldn't make my hair fall out and stumbled across the satin blue bleach powder. I thought I'd give it a try and it was the most gentlest bleach I've ever used! I paired it with 20 volume developer from satin I left it on for about 40 minutes and turned out very beautiful white blonde I have a medium blonde natural hair color and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for something a little gentler to use!
