This is supposed to be a "whistling" kettle. At best it is a soft hiss. If you walk away this kettle will not warn you that your water is boiling. Other wise it is a nice pot.This is an update from the original review. I have reduced it 1 star and it should be a -2. If you are depending on the whistle to warn you that the water is hot, then I suggest that you have the fire department standing-bye. Twice now the water has boiled this pot dry. Yes, there could have been a fire if my dogs hadn't alerted me.

Such a beautiful color, whistles when ready, and the glass lid is actually awesome! I didn't think twice about the lid, but it's nice to be able to see in and see how much water is left. The handle/lever works perfect.Would recommend!

I needed a whistler so I would stop boiling water away. It definitely whistles! My cats go crazy! I’m grateful, not for the crazy cats, but I can hear it!!

This works very well, whistling louder as water continues to boil. I knew its dimensions when I ordered it but I wish it were smaller. I guess that’s the compromise I made.

It works but it doesn’t heat up as fast. Gets rusty with even. Little water and the grooves make it a little hard to clean.

Works great! I haven't had any problems with it.

I absolutely love this tea pot especially because it does whistle,having burned a few pots this is important
