Not as accurate as you might hope
My oven has always been much hotter than the number on the dial. So, a while back, I bought a Taylor oven thermometer ( Taylor 503 Connoissuer Line Oven Thermometer ) which I hated because it was hard to read. So recently I bought this MIU one and a Sunbeam one ( Sunbeam, 90300, Oven Thermometer, Stainless Steel ) because it was 4 for 3 and I was tired of not knowing the oven temperature. Then I turned my oven on to somewhere between 325 and 350F, put all three thermometers in the same part of the oven, and let it heat for a while. After 10 or 15 minutes, I opened the door and took a picture of the thermometers so I could get their readings at the same time. The results were:Sunbeam: approx 380FMIU: approx 360FTaylor: approx 380FSo, the 380-degrees have it. Anyway, my cooking experiences have led me to believe that my oven is more likely to be off by about that much. The MIU one lost the battle of the thermometers, but 20 degrees isn't that much (compared to my oven at least), and the thermometer is relatively easy to read, so I still give it three stars. But the Sunbeam one is better.

Good while it worked
I have had this for several years now and I REALLY like it. I would probably put it as a must have for every baker. It's easy to read and it helps me to make sure that my oven is at temperature. We just moved into a new home with a new stove and it's nice to know how accurate the oven is (first one was off by 75 degrees, this one is off by 25). Makes adjusting your baking temperatures/times easy!*I am amending my review after owning this for several years. The temperature gauge/point must have warped over use and it would drag across the back of the thermometer physically scratching a line into the thermometer between 250-350 degrees. I don't think it was very accurate because of how hard it would need to work to try and make it around those temperatures.

Accurate enough, Easy to get water in
Pros:* Decently sized dial* Hook design is simple and easy to hang on your oven rack* Tested it in my toaster oven and it matched the dial temp (eventually) most of the timeCons:* Got water in it fairly easily so be careful when washing it. Most of the water dripped back out and the rest evaporated by leaving it in the oven at 300 for a few minutes.* Response time is not the fastest. In my toaster oven it gets to the dial's temperature eventually, ~30 or more seconds after the toaster's heating element has cut off.I wish it would cost a couple bucks less than $15, since there are other oven thermometers with equal Amazon rating that cost less.

It died?
I bought this oven thermometer because it was cheap enough and had a lot of good reviews. Unfortunately, after a couple months of living in my oven, it just kind of...died? I found that no matter how hot my oven got, the dial never went higher than 400 degrees. Then one day, the dial went all the way over to 45o degrees and stayed there. Even when I put the thermometer in the freezer, it still read 450.Not sure what happened, and I'm not sure if this was my fault or the thermometer's, but I'll be buying a different oven thermometer from now on.

Good but not very durable.
Seems to be pretty accurate but I can't give it a full 5 stars because the face has already cracked after just a month of usage. It doesn't seem to affect the thermometer functionality but it's pretty disappointing to think that it's so fragile despite not getting moved around or bumped at all! Maybe it cracked because we use the broiler so often, I don't know ... but we keep it on the lower shelf far away from the high heat of the broiler element so that shouldn't play a role. At any rate, I do think that this is a good thermometer at a good price. Just don't expect great durability.

Good Value for Price
Either my oven is perfectly calibrated and this thermometer is dead-on accurate, or by exquisitely unlikely conicidence, they are both equally off. It is easy to read and you can hang it off a rack. The only part I do not like is that because the base has a cut-in, (the purpose of which I have not figured out -no mention in package materials), it is hard to set it on a rack without having it fall over, on its own, or when you move the rack. Still a good value. If anyone knows the reason for the u-shgaped cut-in on the base, please clue me in.

Questionable quality
This is my second MIU product and both were made in China. The quality feels questionable, especially for a $15 thermometer. Feels like a $3.99 kitchen gadget. The metal feels very thin. While in my hot oven, I used tongs to adjust the thermometer's location. The hanging hook bent a little after I barely touched it.Accuracy seems good so far and adjusts within a few minutes. I just don't think this thermometer should have cost so much, though.

Not Waterproof!
I purchased two. One for my oven and one to put in a make it yourself solar oven. I wiped them with a soapy cloth as directed, but then rinsed them under running water. Both got water inside. I e-mailed the company and they responded quickly telling me that they are NOT waterproof. I was instructed to let them dry out and they would work fine. As far as accuracy, I placed them both in my home oven and they had a difference of about 5 degrees. Not too bad. Each line is 10 degrees. They're stable and easy to see.

The best one ever :)
Dose what it claims, seems to be better than any I have used in the past, large face is very nice easily sits on racks or hangs from rack with out falling over, accurate to within 1 deg, I recommend this item

incorrect readings
I bought this to check my ovens temperature only to find out that this thermometer is 50 degrees too high. I verified this with another guage and the oven settings. Very disappointing. There is no way to adjust the gauge so it is a throw away. Amazon delist this product please.
