I did not buy this, because:
- I think the EG3 is better.- For $5 more, I get less in the design wise. The LED pattern on EG8 is immature. The whole headset is not appealing, no contrast, no other color/metal comparing with EG3 with metal and silver looking so good.- The control box is a pain to me. I am using one and it keeps bumping into my chair and table. It also contributes to the weight which makes the headset 'tilted' uncomfortably. My suggestion is to get a good keyboard with multimedia control to deal with sound volume. For the mic volume, I bet you won't change as often.- The eat foam picture is misleading. One would show there is no stitches around while the other does. I personally like the foam attach to the bottom and smooth part on my ears.- And I believe the sound and mic quality are the same according to the specifications.

good quality and value gaming headset with a few caveats...
I received the MPOW EG8's to review in lieu of a less than satisfactory experience with my Amazon purchase of the MPOW EG3.At a similar price point as the EG3's these are superior for the following reasons:1. Fit is snug and comfy (I'm a med/large head). The oversized ear pads are very cushy and the headband padding is also very soft. This creates great sound isolation without pressuring your head. I'm a fan of the overpadded ear coverings. They are lighter than the EG3's but feel like a better built headset.2. The EG8's design mirrors many branded gaming headsets; it's a superior design with a retractable mic boom and wired USB coming out of the left ear cup.3. Inline audio controller is very solid and easy to use. There is even an 'on/off' switch for the ear pad lights.4. Mic noise-cancelling is very good, superior to my Logitech G430's. When i replay audio in Discord, it's very clean at multiple mic positions. The mic boom is great, it clicks into place in 7 positions and it can be easily bent closer to the mouth. When the boom is upright, its aligned with the headband and give the headset a clean look5. You feel like MPOW over-engineered everything, it feel really solid. From the cable, the inline controls, the ear-pieces, the head band; it all feels like it was designed with durability in mind.6. Audio is good if you like more bass. Like the EG3's the 50mm speaker is bass heavy, but it seems to parlay decent mids within these ear cup housings, but treble is a bit light for a gaming headset. Now, for budget gaming headset, it's good. These cans go loud, very loud. I don't know why, but I have to dial down the master audio from my default settings on the Logitech G430's (which are known to be light on loudness).7. Customer service is top notch. You never expect awesome customer service for budget minded products, but the folks at Patozon care about their products and their clients, thanks Patozon, I appreciate your efforts!8. Just a personal preference, but I like muted headsets; I don't need RGB lighting everywhere with splashy colors, I'm very happy with the black on black with blue LED.Some of the "negatives" that keep this headset from achieving 5-stars:1. Ear pad covering is synthetic, non-breathable "pleathor". Maybe I've got 'hot' ears, but I've got to take them off every 30 min to let my ears cool down.2. Audio is still a bit muddy and trebles are too light for my tastes in a gaming headset, but at this price point most gamers will be very happy. Again, since I've got a couple pairs of Logitech G430's, I've grown to appreciate better treble.3. The inline audio control is a bit large (I'm just nit-picking here), but it's ~3.25" x 1.5" x 5/8" without the clip. These are so close to being a 'great' gaming headset. If they used real leather (or some soft material that breathed) and a better audio driver, I'd pay 2x more as I was so impressed with build quality...now I've only used them for a couple of weeks, but no creaking or worries about plastic pieces cracking or falling off. Good value gaming gear that compares very well with Logitech.
