Posture. Eye contact and blinking. Gestures. Tone and pitch. What you don’t say can speak louder than words. Because nonverbal communication is less intentional and harder to control than words are, it provides better clues to what people are feeling and thinking—if you know how to read those signs. In 12 revealing lectures, explore the history, evolution, and context of both the outright obvious and the sublimely subtle nuances of personal expression. Led by Dr. Mark Frank, of the Communication Science Center at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, you will view the scope of nonverbal communication through the lens of science, learning how to analyze the messages being sent and how they are received. One of the most fascinating aspects of this course is the in-depth research Dr. Frank reveals around the biological and anthropological aspects of nonverbal communication. He demonstrates how our endurance as a species can be directly tied to how our ability to present our intentions has evolved. At the conclusion of this course, you’ll come to realize that the “invisible” world of nonverbal communication was always visible to you. After learning how to read the signals and understanding how they have come about, you will be armed with the knowledge and skills to recognize and analyze it. And, as Dr. Frank emphasizes again and again, when you understand nonverbal communication, you understand people.

95% of all communication is non-verbal, so BEST to know how to read it. Very engaging, and highly interesting presenter. A+
If the substantial portion of ALL interpersonal communication in nonverbal, then this lecture should be taught in every high school within this country. This presenter is engaging and very effective in his delivery of the material, while remaining completely objective by providing opposing views on each subject that even suggests controversy. THIS IS NOT A BORING LECTURE!My favorite sections were those on detecting deception, and relationship appraisal.Bravo.

Good as an intro for nonverbal communication
It was a good course if you want to know what nonverbal communication was but if you need something more in depth you want or use a book, like without saying a word or something along those lines

Its not what you say
My working life maintains proximal distance from face to face interactions with people. However, my personal life is full of friends and family. This lecture series is VERY entertaining (in a good way!) as I not only find out more about my own feelings; such as realising my disgust with a work-related task at hand through my nose scrunching, slumped shouldered feet dragging... too a friends expressions as we discuss...Is the series orth the money? Yes it is.And worth so much time that I am writing this review. Thanks to the series, lecturer and Amazon's Prime channel avalability for its broadcast (or more so video stream)Enough said? Then put on the "happy face", hold for a minute or so and it's edification will brighten your day even more, =ing......

Burn it
Hey folks! Are you a woman or a minority ? Haven’t you always wanted to hear a lecture series all about how white men justify their biases against you?Well now you can!!LEARN about how black is more aggressive than white!BE EDUCATED about how men prefer women with a specific waist to hip ratio (“it’s a fact”)!!!GET ENLIGHTENED on the (summarily outdated) Standard Theory of Evolution and (disproven) Male Warrior Hypothesis!!And all this can be yours to the exclusion of any actual relevant information!!!!!It’s appalling to call this a Great Course. It’s a Course in Male apology and blatant racism. Please don’t show this to your children. Shameful.
