Forte Pisgah 2 Tubeless-ready Mountain Tires were developed on some of the toughest trails in the Pisgah National Forest. Available in both 26- and 29-inches, and both featuring a 2.35-inch width, these tires are ideal for XC riding or any epic ride that demands climbing as well as fast, technical descents. Pisgah 2's have a tread design that provides optimal balance between grip and low rolling resistance. They combine a 60A/50A dual durometer tread compound for long wear life and good bite in corners. And they hold up every bit as well as tires costing a whole lot more.Features: Tread design provides optimal balance between grip and low rolling resistance 60A/50A Dual durometer tread compound for long wear life and good bite in corners Ramped center knobs for low rolling resistance Tubeless-ready bead, 60TPI (29") 945 grams, (26") 835grams

Excellent low cost alternative. Tough as nails.
Excellent strong tires. Not for weight weenies. Good rolling resistance if installed facing correct way. Nice side bite for the loose sandy stuff I ride in Florida.***TIP***Make sure you remove the lower mold rubber fingers before installing or they may get caught between rim and bead. Frustrating LOL.

Sheds mud, hooks up well in corners, good value
Aggressive tread works well in the muddy, dirty, root covered trails I ride in NC. So far it seems like as pretty good value.

Wearing quickly
For my environment in the high desert of southern ca . This Tire is wearing out quickly and the knobs are already cracking . It also is leaking sealant through the sidewall which isnt that unusual for mountain bike tire but it may show its a fairly thin tire there where it is sold as a stout tire which it is not . I did get a small slice in between the side knobs that the sealant can seal but riding with the tire flexing and how thin it is in that location it opens back up like tearing off a scab on a wound . If your on a loamy cross country environment the tire would probably do fine but not in the rocky , kitty litter and hard pack decomposed granite is a fast wear down on this tire which is surprising with what is specked on this tire .Now performance bike is selling the tire at this time for $ 22 so that maybe worth a try at that price but not the $37 plus add 13 for shipping and at that price you can be close to buying some maxis tires as a pair for about the same price per unit of the pisgah and a far better tire
