Small and mighty, but gets the job done. Blade could be a little sharper. Fits in the junk drawer nicely for quick package opening. Easy to slide with one hand. Love the pink and yellow! Bright, cheerful, and easy to find!

Admittedly, I saw this online and it felt gimmicky, but since it was inexpensive, I figured I'd give it a try. Four years later, and I can't imagine living without it!Pros:- Cuts through anything we've tried it on (cardboard, plastic film, paper, foam)- Safer around kids- Good size to hold (not bulky but not tiny)- Different versions are colored differently (orange ones have a blade that stays out, while green ones you have to keep holding the button to keep the blade out)- Magnetic (we keep one on the fridge)- Long lasting (we haven't had to replace a blade in 4 years)Cons:- It's only magnetic on one side, so you have to place the right side against the metal surface- It would be nice if it had a hole to hang/loop through something

I've been using titanium non-stick Fiskars scissors to open packing cartons (specifically to cut the packing tape), but the scissors are anything but non-stick, and are too fat to get under the packing tape. So I decided to give this little cutter a try. I laughed when I opened the package because it is soooo tiny, to the point of being cute. However, so far it does the trick. It easily cuts through the packing tape, which is all I ask of it. It does not seem particularly sturdy, and I think the chances of it cutting through cardboard are slim to zero. But for my purposes, it is fine, and very easy to store since it is soooo tiny. If it felt a little more solid and/or if it was a couple dollars cheaper, I'd give it 5 stars. As it is, I'm giving it 4-1/2 stars. I'll update the review if it doesn't hold up through the upcoming season of excessive package deliveries.

These are so convenient! I buy them as gifts to keep on hand for teachers, neighbors etc! It is the most convenient package opener, and box cutter we have! I prefer the auto retracting option but the manual one is also great! I have multiple of my own I keep in my fridge as they are magnetic!

I love it! So tiny and functional! It's easy to use, and I don't have to worry about potentially scratching/cutting myself because the blade is ceramic. The blade is not too long, but it's enough to open packages. It's also very affordable, and it doesn't take up a lot of space.

This is the second retractable opener that I have purchased. However....my first one was the auto-retractable one - which I HIGHLY recommend. That one felt sturdy and has worked beautifully for a few years now, with no issues with the ceramic blade. This one...is a manual retractable blade, which I didn't think would be an issue. (I wanted the pink color and thought it would be close to the same as the other one I had.) It was worlds apart in terms of how the quality felt. The "manual" part was really stiff to move the blade in and out, and the item itself just didn't have the quality feel that the auto one did. Ultimately - sent it back.

I open a lot of Amazon boxes, and this little pink contraption is saving my life - one box at a time. It is smooth cutting, without being dangerous. It cuts like a rockstar and you will never know you aren't using an industrial box cutter to slice thru those packages. I'm not saying you *couldn't* cut yourself with one, but if you did then you should never use plastic cutlery either. Enjoy!
