Q: Is this unit a linear or switching power supply?

This is a switching power supply as power if filtered through the transformer. Although it is rated for 110v input, inside the supply, if you feel comfortable with taking the cover off, there is a toggle witch will allow 220v input. They do this because it is easier to modify for other countries. It's older technology because it is not adaptive but how often would you change input. I do recommend taking off the cover and inspecting it. Mine came with the transformer not tightened down and some balls of lose solder bouncing around. Do inspect it before use but I have to say, it has been a pretty solid performing unit despite the poor assembly/final inspection.

No problem with the brightness of the display as of a new purchase November 2020.

Q: What's the weight of the power supply ? Is it heavy?

This bench power supply 60v 5A comes with compact design and light weight , the host no less than 1.5kg.

Q: Can it be used for electrolysis?

It provides up to 30 volts at 10 amps continuously so it can replace a battery from 1volt to 30 volts and deliver up to 10 amps of current. If this would meet the power requirements of the electrolysis equipment then you are good.
