Deja Vu [Blu-ray] [2006] [US Import]

A fabulously well crafted film with a superb branch of the world of sci-fi explored. A great, what if, movie. Excellent acting by Denzel Washington making the film very credible and what a brilliant ending with a well woven plot and very credible story despite the venture into science-fiction. Almost makes the viewing invention credible. Second time I have seen it and easily just as good as the first time and will definitely watch it again.

Very exciting film the action and suspense cranks up as the movie progresses, and at the first viewing I had to switch the ending off, and look again. Washington'e effots to save the girl, and indeed all the passengers on the ferry, were so heroic I was right there with him. An Einstein-Rosen bridge was created, and that makes sense, scientists have been able to teleport the most minute elementary particles with this device, it hit the news hard both in scientific circles and also to the general public. However, when the principle is put in the hands of Tony Scott, we can view places in four dimensions, four and a half days in the past, and then send a written note and ultimately a person back through past time to interfere with it and create that ubiquitous anomaly yet again. However if logic is suspended the story line is fantastic, and the anomalies shouldn't really bother us. Time is looped for a number of instances and then split firmly into two streams, only to become reunited again, into one stream at the end. What goes on in this mish mash of temporal high jinx is the interesting bit, and as the plot progresses it would seem that all was going to be doomed to failure. The action never ceases, from spectacular car crashes, desperate hunting for the killer terrorist, and the certainty that our hero is developing stronger feelings for our heroine than he had at first. Nothing is said or done, but Washington's excellent acting portrays that very clearly. It's a wonderful journey into the world of sci-fi fantasy, redolent of Looper, and Virtuosity. It's a real action cops film, with orthodox methods of catching the criminal, as well as the bizarre and spectacular scenes, such as the blowing up of a ferry. There's something for everybody in this film, and it wants sitting back and enjoying.

Awesome film with Denzel Washington

An amazing film in many ways. Excellent screenplay, with, apart from Denzel Washington in the lead, James Caviezel , Val Kilmer and lovely Paula Patton in the cast, story centres on an explosion on a Ferry hired by friends and family of sailors from the US.Nimitz which has terribly devastating results with absolute carnage. When the body of a young woman washes up on the banks of anew Orleans river it is established she was dead BEFORE the explosion. Washington, playing FBI Agent Doug Carlin is able to assess a crime scene in seconds and uses his skill and knowledge to follow the trail of mayhem. Using a new 'invention' from a Special Government Department and guided by their experts, Carlin is able to first view events which recently occurred and then 'travel back in time' to BEFORE THE event in order to prevent the explosion and catastrophic number of victims, save the girl and establish WHO is the bomber? Directed by brilliant, energetic Tony Scott and Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Different style of crime film, non-stop action and highly recommended!

I was drawn to this movie because I really like Denzel Washington and I was not disappointed. He plays an intelligent and likeable ATF Agent keen to do the best for the people around him. There is a certain amount of scientific mumbo-jumbo in the plot, so be prepared to pass over that and just enjoy a good story well told. This story does embed the usual time-travelling paradox but the way the plot loops back on itself is greatly attractive. This movie is well named because of this. I enjoyed this movie a lot.

Deja Vu is a thriller about a terrorist attack that blows up a ferry filled with a Navy crew. Denzel Washington plays an ATF agent who helps the investigation. He's invited to join a special team that has the technology to view into a fixed point in the past. It's an interesting premise and while it follows the laid out path it's an excellent watch. Denzel Washington is always fun in action, the support cast less so, but they're not too detracting. The bad guy was interesting (I enjoyed watching him in Person of Interest), I would have liked to have seen more of him in the film. The film starts well, but unfortunately loses it's way near the end. To be blunt it goes all Hollywood, which kind of spoils it the good work from the beginning. I didn't mind the intent, but they should have tried to follow the parameters they'd explained earlier on. It would have been more difficult to accomplish, but would have made a more interesting story. Overall it's not a bad film, in fact it's quite an entertaining watch, but it could have been so much better.

This is still a really watchable film today - the technology still looks good and the scientific babble is great for the physicist who wants some downtime to watch TV. Denzel and Jim Cavaziel (who plays the baddie) are absolutely excellent, Cavaziel is one of the most under appreciated actors, impeccably capable who despite a respectable resume lacks a lot of lead roles he deserves because of his decision to play Jesus for Mel Gibson (Mel even rang him back to tell him it could bust his career), he plays a bad guy really well - he is always calm and utterly convincing. Denzel is just superb and commanding as expected during this period where he had established himself, the female lead is competent but they overdo the emotions of her and her Dad a bit. Final touch to avoid the paradox of Denzel meeting himself is clever - he xxxxxx , thoroughly recommended.

細かいツッコミどころは多々あります。その上で見たあと満足感を得られます。封切りで見ました。半ばで謎の解明がされた時に誰もが、んな阿呆な？だと。でもお話しはその呆れを通り越した後に怒涛の展開です。入り混じる過去と現在。その狭間に死ななくても良い女性が死ぬ運命に。何とか救おうとするデンゼル・ワシントン。彼女はすくえるのか？そして衝撃のクライマックスの後のラストの逆転劇！！しつこいですが謎はたいした設定ではありません。失笑ものと言ってよい。肝は救える可能性のある生命を救おうとするデンゼル・ワシントンの奮闘。そしてソレが更に！！おっとネタバレ厳禁！！生命を救う為に奮闘する人間。勇気を与えてくれる映画。そして希望を与えてくれる映画です。 そしてそういう趣旨で作られた映画でもあります。

J'ai adoré ce film à la 📺 2024.. car jamais vu.., puis l'ayant cherché sur Amazon, me disant qu'il l'avait forcément ! J'ai trouvé puis acheté d'occasion et aucune rayure avec le vendeur MOMOX ! Je rachèterai plus tard des DVD que je souhaite vu la qualité même d'occasion de momox !

excellent improvement from regular dvd, this blu ray high definition is worth the investment. Excellent movie, would recommend.
