Easy peasy extra frequency
Contrary to earlier reviews, this radio is perfectly capable of 480mhz.Simply download the programming software from tyt888.comConnect radio to pc and turn onRun softwareClick "frequency range"Push "f11" on keyboardType "9800TYT" in to password fieldClick "edit"Make new frequency range "134.00000-174.00000" and "400.00000-480.0000"Annndddd done.You already want the software to edit settings and memories so do this 1 extra step and you're done!

Find something else!
Absolute junk. These things are great if they are built right but I received one with a bad audio circuit. No matter what I did to try and improve audio it would not improve and actually got worse. I cannot recommend one of these.

Does not go to 480Mhz as advertised
I have two of these radios and I love them. Advertised frequency is up to 480 MHz. The one I purchased from this seller only goes to 450 MHz. I spent half of my day trying to troubleshoot why I couldn’t program certain frequencies in. I finally noticed the sticker on the radio. Waste of my time, have to deal with return and then order a new one.

Internal speaker does not work
The internal speaker does not work but the radio works fine as long as you use an external speaker

Great customer service. Nice crossband transceiver for the price
I bought this item because I saw one in operation by my ham radio friend, and was impressed.My unit was installed by the same technician but would not power up.The control head worked on my friend's transceiverThe seller was great give me some help. He sent me a free replacement board, and kept following up to make sure everything was fine.I will buy from this seller again.And the crossband feature saved our operations in a crunch. I'll get another because it works well and I had great customer service.
