Value and Simplicity
For a combination of the money, size, ease of installation and quality - this is an awesome little unit! I installed this in my 3rd gen Honda CRV and couldn't be happier. I soldered everything together for the new head unit and the amp without even opening the car door - literally on the couch watching football. all I had to do was plug and play when it came down to working in the car. To make a direct comparison will be hard as I replaced the head unit at the same time with a pioneer mvh560 and the quality of sound is awesome! I am using polk db 6.5" speakers in each door (components in front). I wanted to hide an amp behind the dash (there is a lot of space behind the crv dash) and I knew I didn't need to blow the doors off of anything so I figured this would be more than enough to give some decently full sound and the ease of wiring was a dream. I have always hated running amp wires all over the place - this solved that problem by using all the factory stereo wires - I did create a new chassis ground for the relatively beefy ground wire that it comes with. The power wire is the same gauge and some would recommend running a power wire to it from the battery with a fuse, especially if you plan on maxing it out regularly. If you plan to enjoy tunes and have a conversation and not blow your kids' eardrums out - using factory stereo wiring is fine for the power wire. It took me to turn it up to uncomfortable levels to get it to start to have power and heat issues. To mount it I used double sided tape and zip ties to secure the amp behind the dash you wouldn't even know it's back there. There are no gain knobs - I personally love this feature since it's tucked away behind the dash and making gain adjustments post install would just irritate me enough to not do it. It comes down to what you want. I wanted a simple, decent sounding, and easy to install amplifier at this little guy delivered on all fronts. If you want BIG sound and lots of control - this will not make you happy. I am actually planning on getting another one of these for one of my other cars.

Nice compact amp
Installed in line with an android radio. Simple install , found a 30 amp fused circuit on the dash fuse block, that was for diesel models, that was perfect as it only had one power pin installed. Snaked my power wire from drivers side of dash to center , making sure I have no pinching points. Then I used a fuse tapper along with proper wire size and fuse. Ran my wiring with slack, grounded my amp to the dash carrier and used the packaging foam as a cushion and zip tied the amp against the dash carrier brace that fit like a glove behind the trim panel. I can access the switches for filter control. Using the HPF and letting my Skar SVR 12" do the work for the low notes. Sound is nice , crisp and goes loud. Running 4 jbls 6.5 2ohm speakers. Never cut out on me even on a long road trip thru the desert. Would not hesitate to use again where you don't have room or want a hidden install. The size of a box your new phone comes in. Recommend.

Great little amp!
Pioneer GM-D1004 400W 4-Channel GM Digital Series Class FD Amplifier I installed this into my wife's 1989 Suburban along with a modified factory radio that had a 3.5mm AUX added to it and some cheap Boss audio speakers. We needed to keep the factory/stock look of the truck so we couldn't go with an aftermarket head unit. She shows the truck in AACA car shows as an original unrestored vehicle. The amp fit in the dash behind the radio, out of sight. I got a Scosche Reverse Wiring Harness for 1973-1991 General Motors Power/4 Speaker Connector and another factory male connector set. Using the two connectors I wired everything up in the house, then just plug and play out in the truck, no cutting of the factory wiring harness. If we want to or need to remove the amp it all just unplugs. The only issue I have with the amp is that we get a loud pop sound when the radio is turned on and off. This might be due to the remote power wire being connected, I didn't try out the auto turn on using the speaker input as the trigger. I may try this at some point to see if it solves the popping noise. Otherwise this little amp is great! Super small size, easy to hide, great power and sound and super easy install!

Amazing value and extremely small
This little lamp has some kick! I’m using it to run four 6 inch kicker door speakers. I ended up tucking it up underneath my glove box. Just required a couple of long zip ties and it’s out of site. Filtering out bass anything below 100 Hz, it sounds great. loud and clear.

Tiny amp huge sound
Most aftermarket head units only provide approx. 15-20W per channel which just isn't enough for anything better than stock speakers. There are a few available that offer about 50W per channel but they are rare and are pretty expensive. This amp is an excellent alternative, and you won't be disappointed. Pioneer, as always, delivers an excellent product! The included wiring is really easy to deal with, and it's super small so you can easily tuck it away. Is this the amp you want if you need a bunch of tunability/adjustment options, huge power for a high-end setup, or want something super duper loud? No. But it's got plenty of power for 95% of people out there. I only need to turn up the volume on my head unit halfway and it's plenty loud. For how small this amp is, it runs pretty cool - barely warm to the touch even after driving for a few hours. I like this thing in my SUV I'm definitely considering purchasing another for my pickup truck. I'd rate it 6 stars out of 5 if I could!!

Very impressed, Just install this in a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire using a Apline Type-S speakers and it is loud. I currently run an Alpine PDXF4 400W amp and Type-R speakers in my 2008 Sierra and this is not as good but definetly comparable. This amp has zero adjustments accept for high-pass and low-pass filters. but for the price you can't go wrong. This thing is also super tiny! You can pretty much stuff it anywhere. If your looking for a 400W amp in a lower price range this is a great buy!

Maravilloso amplificador.
