Better than Best Foods!
I grew up on Best Foods (Hellman’s) Mayo & I always loved it. Duke’s beats BF by a country mile. The consistency is creamy smooth, the flavor has a slight tang to it which just adds more flavor to anything you add it to. It’s delicious on sandwiches, in deviled eggs, & I’ve used it in my great-grandmother’s creamy coleslaw recipe. The family loves it. Having said that, it’s the seller that deserves 5 stars as well for their awesome customer service & here’s why. I ordered 4 jars of Duke’s & unfortunately the box arrived damaged; so damaged 2 jars were missing. We contacted the seller sending them photos of the box to prove our claim. They said no problem, we’ll make it right. Next thing we know another box shows up, damages, but not like the first one & it has 4 jars of mayo inside. I only expected the company to replace the 2 missing jars, not fulfill my order again! If you haven’t tried Duke’s you need to. It’s delicious!

Mayo AND Miracle Whip rejoice! The feud is put to rest...
I do have to say, it's hard to tell from the picture how small the jar is, it's about 3-4 inches tall. Of course you can read the label and see how much is in it, but it's easier to grasp when you can picture the size of the jar. As far as mayonnaise goes, Duke's flavor is unrivaled. Until I bought this for my mother who had just moved in, I had never heard of Duke's. She is from FL and I live in MI, and I haven't seen it anywhere. I bought this jar for her, and she was absolutely delighted. The flavor of this mayonnaise, compared to Helman's- my usual brand, Duke's has a tangier nuttier flavor. I have mainly used it on sandwiches. I would be interested in using it to make tuna or egg salad to see what yields. Being that I only bought the small jar, I guess I'll have to wait on that. I am not a big fan of miracle whip, and most people seem to be a Mayo OR a Miracle Whip kind of person. I would say that Duke's could be the spread that might bring these two worlds together and appease everyone. Now that that controversy is taken care of, what about Obama Care?

Small jar
I really like dukes mayonnaise but when I ordered this I should’ve realized why it was so cheap it was a the tiniest jar of mayonnaise I’ve ever saw my life it made two sandwiches and I put some in a chocolate cake and that’s about all that was that I can do with it , shouldn’t sell that in a small size or At least make it known how big the jar is

The Best Mayo in the World!
I live in CA and had never heard of Duke's Mayo until I was searching for the "perfect" Pimento Cheese spread recipe. My mom in the 1960's use to buy Kraft pimento cheese spread in a little jar and spread it on celery sticks for appetizers but I wanted to do a recipe from scratch. Almost all of the authentic southern recipes called for Duke's. I found it on Amazon and ordered a small jar just to test it out. I have never tasted such good mayo in my life. I am now ordering the 4-pack of the large jars. My pimento-cheese spread was a hit on Thanksgiving and I showed everyone the Duke's mayo and they were sold on the taste and texture. Love that there is NO sugar in this mayo, too. I just made tuna melts over the weekend and used Duke's and I am not kidding...BEST tuna melt ever - totally different taste than other mayonaisse. So glad Amazon had it - my next stop will be my local grocer to see if they can carry it here!

Very Small bottle
I ordered this because I have heard that Duke's mayonaise is a real treat. It turns out that it is very bland and a blank flavor palate for mixing salads or making sandwiches. I believe that it is valued most by people who grew up with that bland flavor profile. Also, please note that this is a VERY small bottle of only 8 oz. Compared to Hellman's/Best Foods Mayo at 16 cents per oz, the Duke's is $1.00 per oz. So an interesting but failed experiment to explore new flavors.

Great stuff but this is practically sample size
I literally gasped when I took this out of the box and saw the size. My bad, it clearly says 8oz on the listing but for the price I presumed it was the regular size. Hand and Apple mouse for scale, and I have small hands! Aside from the very expensive price per ounce Dukes is a great product and doesn’t have distribution where I live in the Midwest.

If you like Hellman's/Bestfood I think will really love this!
I have always been a Hellman’s/Bestfoods devotee BUT – after seeing a review of different mayo brands I learned about Dukes! But I don’t live where Dukes is sold in stores. So I ordered a small jar. Once I tasted it I was hooked! Dukes is by far the tangiest mayonnaise I have ever tasted. It’s got the Right amount of creaminess, with the best umami flavor and no oily or eggy aftertaste. It’s not as thick as Hellman’s, but it packs a better punch! I think it the apple cider vinegar and touch of paprika, where Hellman’s uses basic white vinegar and no paprika!!

Duke's Mayo: Very good, but so is Hellmann's!
5 stars for the delivery, which was prompt and on time. As for the Duke's Mayo? Yeah, it's good. The consistency is a little bit runnier than the Hellmann's I use. The taste was slightly different, obviously from the lack of sugar in the Duke's prep. I don't see anything here to justify my spending a great deal more on mayo, plus going through the minor hassle of online ordering. Perhaps if it was available in my supermarkets here in the east, I would give it more of a try. But, any minor taste differences (which could be in my imagination) will not justify a switch. I understand that mayo preferences among users borders on the rabid--so while I appreciate all the 5 star Duke reviews, appreciate that I'm sticking with Hellmann's! After all, it's not like we're promoting MiracleWhip!
